City Parking — Local services in New York

WAY OVERPRICED + HIDDEN FEES + HOLIER THAN THOU TENANTS Before I even pulled in I asked what the rate was and if they took credit cards. They told me yes credit cards were accepted and the rate for 1 + 2 hours.

Then when I went to cash out they told me there was an added $2 fee to pay with the credit card adding insult to the already outrageous rate. When I pointed out that I specifically asked the price for cc before parking and that they should make clear their rates, a snotty tenant who did not even hear the entire interaction decided it was her duty to point out the rates (WHICH DID NOT INCLUDE THE EXTRAS FEES), roll her eyes at me, and then call me "too much" when I pointed out that the fees were not posted and I that didn't need her to roll her eyes at me.

The cashier had a its-not-my-problem attitude saying they have nothing to do with it and its company policy and that I had to call the "company". When I called the number the manager answered standing 5 feet away from me and was the same guy who told me the incorrect rates in the first place. He told me the hidden fees are posted on their city license (in very small print, and not with their rates).

What pissed me off was not the $2, I would have (AND DID) paid it anyway, I just wish they would have been transparent and not so sneaky about it. Plus I didn't need a chime in from someone who cannot mind their...

By far the WORST parking garage! WARNING! Do not park your vehicle here. I made the mistake of entrusting the garage to park and secure my vehicle. First, the manager overcharged us and after speaking with our property manager we realized that we were being overcharged by hundreds of dollars. The supervisor pretended that he had no idea what was going on and never even apologized for being a fraud. After leaving my car there for 2 months I realized that the whole driver side of my car was damaged. Not one staff member informed me of the damage then proceeded to pretend that they didn’t do it. Subsequently, someone dropped off their vehicle which was a stick shift. The staff member who attempted to move the car stalled it out 5 times before getting out and admitting that he did.not know how to drive stick. If you care about customer service and your car please avoid this garage...

We extended our parking reservation through SpotHero. When we went to pick up the car, City Parking system had not processed the change. Because their barcode scanner was broken and their system was not updating properly- they insisted that we pay again for the parking extension. So we were forced to pay for the parking extension twice- through SpotHero and through City Garage.
