I ordered a half a sheet cake for my engagement party, to be vegan, red velvet and beach themed. I called ahead to see what the pricing would be because it was not listed on their website. I was told it would cost $90 for a basic half sheet cake to feed 50. When I arrived to the store, I was asked if I had a picture of what I wanted and which type of cake I wanted. With my picture and and ideas it came to $150. We had decided it would be seashells white and beige.
When I presented the cake to my guests at the party, they were amazed at how delicious the cake was for a vegan cake. No one even knew it was vegan until I told them all! I was very happy with how the cake presented itself and the taste so I am very appreciative of the work they put into our cake.
I'm deducting one star for the following: I wasn't very happy with the way in which business was conducted, in that we could only pay cash for the cake, and we had to put more than half the price deposit up front ($80 upfront with $70 due on pickup). I did not like that I had to provide my own picture instead of being offered a brochure of sample cakes that they had from previous events. When I was asked if I wanted anything else for my cake (other than the seashells) I asked maybe you could put small flip flops also, and automatically they said the price would be significantly more. It just felt a little like I was being hustled after being told $90 for a basic cake and then the price being raised to $150 for just edible seashells and white frosting and not even a cake topper or writing on the top (I provided the cake topper). Maybe it was miscommunication or maybe just my expectations, but something about our encounter worried me.
After picking up the cake however, I was very satisfied and felt it was worth the money. The cake was beautiful and more importantly I was able to convince my guests that just because something is vegan doesn't mean it doesn't taste as good as the real thing. I would order from this place again now that I know what to...
Read moreTheir Vegan cakes are excellent. A few years ago, I bought a Vegan cake from them for my mom’s birthday. What drew me to them was the fact that they create low sugar cakes and so my first time actually trying their cake for my mom’s birthday, I was impressed that the cake tasted delicious, despite not being too sweet and having a lightness to it.
Fast forward to yesterday, I picked up a cake that I had actually ordered the day before for my own birthday. I was going to skip cake this year but decided the day before my birthday to see if they could do a rush over. Thankfully, they were able to take my cake order. Anyway, the cake was DELICIOUS and to be honest, I don’t really like cakes. I got a Vegan Oreo cake with Vanilla frosting. My entire family and friends enjoyed the cake so much, even my brother who regularly stays away from sugar, wanted more. They also have great customer service and I love that they’re Indo-Caribbean owned. Great prices too in my opinion. They truly deserve the hype and I plan on purchasing again before the end of the summer!
Shout out to Balbir! He seems very sweet, genuine and very laidback! When he took my order over the phone, he asked if I’d like flowers added since I’m a girl. So...
Read moreThey were going to get four stars because I enjoyed their cake so much, but I went into the store the other day and the gentleman there offered such poor customer service, I had to drop it one star (note: I went again recently and the woman, who is also the baker, is quite nice. Deal with her, if you can. The cake this time though was not as good: a bit dry and the filling had a greasy mouthfeel). I came in for a gluten free cake and was told I had to order one days in advance. My brother in law, however, got one same day. 🤔 The man also said the cakes won't keep well if they make them in advance, but then brought me over to check out their premade gluten free cupcakes🤨 luckily they offer a really delicious product that's hard to find in a market where there is demand for gluten free, vegan and vegetarian cakes and little competition. And finally, take credit/debit cards, for crying out...
