if only i could give a place 0 stars and a class action 🤗
for context, i went on a friday night @9pm with a party of 7 to celebrate a friends birthday with no reservation. upon arriving we waited patiently outside for 30 minutes to meet with a host just for joining the waitlist in their dining area. we were told it would 20-30 before we would let inside and that the tables were first come first serve and that the bar had drinks. we put our names down and continued to wait. the host continues making his way down the line checking in guest “hi. how are you. how many people are in your party? it’ll be xzy wait.”
once inside the establishment we continue to wait an additional 35 minutes just to get a table for the dining area located in the back. it’s a great atmosphere, cool selection of cocktails & bites to eat ($15-$60). we all indulge in some light snacks and drinks while waiting for a table to open. as time continues to pass we become quite restless as the establishment is small with scarce and limited seating. we inquire with the host a second time about the wait for dining as this is dinner with casual drinks to celebrate a friend. he informs us that there are 70 guest with reservations ahead of us but he will see what he can do as there is a party who hasn’t arrived yet for there upcoming reservation. he instructed that if they didn’t arrive within 20 minutes he would give us their table. within 10 minutes he returns and tells us “i managed to pull some stings, please follow me to the back.”
once seated the white host in his mid 20’s graciously welcomes us to our table and informs us that we have a 2 hour maximum as there are guests waiting to be seated and to enjoy! we sit for 2 minutes before our waiter arrives and asks us what we would like to eat. the menu is QR code based. you must scroll through endless lists & tabs before finally landing onto what is essentially the same dining menu up front. we give him our orders and he returns moments later to ask for our drink selection. the table turns to look at one another and no one offers a response because we aren’t interested in placing another order for drinks. he then leans in closer and says, “there is a one minimum drink order person.” in utter confusion i look at the host and tell him we already ordered our drinks up front. we aren’t interested in placing another. like a broken record he tells us that we MUST put in an order for drinks as the menu is “highly selective & exclusive, “ and policy. 🤔 keep in mind the food is all the same. i politely ask the girl who served our waters to return with the floor manager. when she arrives i inform her of the situation and lack of transparency with this so called “policy” as it is NOT mentioned on their site or told to you by the host. had that of been the case we would never have ordered as many drinks and appetizers at the front-end of the establishment. our food sat for 10 minutes, most of it uneaten because instead of being allowed to enjoy our meal it was spent disputing the “policy.” she leaves us to speak with the host in efforts to get clarity on the situation and returns with a less than hospitable demeanor. “i’ve spoken with my host and he informs me that he did, in fact, tell you about our one drink minimum policy. you must not have heard him or there was a lack of communication on your end as this is something that we relay to all of our guest who wish to dine with us.” i felt insulted as she basically called us liars. again we fight to dispute this claim and because we are all feeling very mislead and mistreated. she offers no consultation and tells us that must leave now. after food has been served with few items MISSING she delivers us a bill and forces us from our table that we still had for and hour and 20 minutes mind you! the host reappears, offers to help with closing our front tab. while assisting the guest who ordered from up front he singles her out & says to her, “i tried to do you a favor and it blew up on face. that’s what i get for helping your kind”

Read moreAbsolutely would not go back. My friends and I went for dinner on a whim, not knowing that it was known for its drinks. It was late and many of the restaurants in the area were either closed, or extremely busy. Our go to restaurant/bar was right across the street but we decided to go somewhere new.
After waiting 30 minutes on line outside, and an additional 40 minutes at the bar. My friend inquired about how many people were ahead of us to which the host responded about 70, but he volunteered to see what he could do to help us out; so we decided to grab some drinks and mocktails in the overcrowded bar area. When the host sat us at our table, he informed us that we had a time limit of two hours. We expressed our gratitude for bumping us so far up the waitlist and he walked away. We then ordered food off of their (extremely limited) menu and carried on with our conversation.
We were tired and we didn’t really want another drink; the drinks and mocktails at the bar weren’t so great that it left us wanting more, so we didn’t order any. After about 15 minutes our waiter returned, and asked us what we would like to order for cocktails. When we told him that we weren’t interested in buying drinks he informed us that it was their policy that each person had to order at least one. Had we have known that earlier, we would have either not gotten drinks at the bar, or decided to go somewhere else instead of ordering food.
When our waiter adamantly insisted that we order drinks, we asked to speak to the manager. By this point our food had already arrived; we just wanted to finish our food, pay our bill and leave. We asked if there was any way we could opt out because when we sat down and ordered our food we weren’t informed of their policies nor is it displayed anywhere on the menu.
The manager regurgitated the same information given to us earlier and insisted that we buy drinks, even though we had no interest in doing so and were not told prior to ordering our food. It felt as though we were the ones who had to pay for their lack of transparency in the first place. We were not going to be bullied into buying another drink, that we didn’t want, so we politely declined.
Instead of preserving the client experience, the host came over and told us that if we weren’t going to order drinks they would have to give away the table that we were seated at. So we were forced to take our food to-go. A couple of us waited outside while my friend went to get a receipt for the drinks we had in the bar area, because it seemed as though they charged her twice. On her way out, the host that had basically kicked us out made a rude remark. When we tried to inform the manager, she was once again dismissive and condescending towards us.
Overall the food was mid(the salt egg sauce literally tasted like sand and most of the food was served on paper plates), the bar area is overcrowded, the drinks aren’t worth the hype and the service was trash . Even if this didn’t happen, I wouldn’t...
