May 2023: The Starlight Park Phase 2 project was completed in early May 2023, and the result is amazing. There are winding paths, blue bridges, awesome views of the trains, and a dog run. But, the restrooms in Starlight Park are not yet opened because they are in a part of the park along Sheridan Boulevard that is still under construction as of today (Memorial Day 2023). The park is still worth a visit, though. Update from November 2023: All of the construction work is done and the restrooms are now usable. A sign over there says the restrooms are open only from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. I believe the restrooms are too small for a park of this size (the mens' bathroom only has one toilet, one urinal, and one sink).

Nice space. Good walking/running paths. Lots of cookouts in the open areas. Nice play area with sprinklers for the kids to enjoy. Safe during peak times with a police presence there, particularly in the main field area. Lonelier areas throughout the park but never felt unsafe. Parking along both sides of Sheridan Blvd. wasn't to bad with people coming and going often. Kudos to those (groups/companies) responsible for building this section up. Years ago there wasn't much desireable here...but they've really built it up into a place where not only locals can enjoy, but others can come to visit...doesn't happen to much is the less desireable neighborhoods, or boroughs for that matter. Great job!

This park is even bigger since the last time I was here and it is my childhood park, the development that was made ro this park is insane. There are so many different paths to walk, a bunch of seating areas and if you are a person who wants alone time, this is one of those parks. So much evergreen to look at and don't get me started on the river, one thing I don't like though is the people who throw trash in the park & the river. But overall 100% worth coming to this park for bbq's, just to have a seat or relax on the grass & the 6 train is near

This is a beautiful park in the East Crotona section of Bronx NY . I am updating my past review of this park to reflect on the fact that the sprinklers are now on and available. They are working on constructing a very necessary new public restroom. They also built 3 new bridges to help connect it with Concrete Park and to make traveling across towards the Soundview part of Bronx which is a great convenience. It’s an absolute beauty and I recommend everyone to come visit this hidden gem.

This park has been around for a while now and it’s constantly improving. They’ve recently added a parking lot and water fountains and they’re currently working on constructing even more paths alongside the bronx river and a bridge connecting the current park to an extension of the park they’re working on. Lovely view too! Update June 2023: There are now even more paths with new benches, dog runs, lawns, and bridges! I took some great photos here.

Parts of Starlight Park appear to be under construction. From what I could see they are trying to create a park that connects Starlight with Concrete Plant Park. Which would be great! This space is meticulously designed for the community. For the photographer there are lots of good lines and right outside the park, there are still points of urban decay...perfect for the Urban Photographer who loves that grunge look. Definitely worth a visit.

Starlight Park is a public park located along the Bronx River in the Bronx in New York City. Starlight Park stands on the site of an amusement park of the same name that operated in the first half of the 20th century.
