My family and I were expelled from the park at 550 Madison Ave for setting up a birthday picnic for our 1 year old son and some other young families. We carefully abided by the park rules, such as no music and no littering, and even came to the park the prior day to ask permission. A very kind security guard (Leatrice) told us that it was normal for people to have parties in the park and even pointed out a group gathering right then: "they're here every weekend." We arrived the next day, unpacked and set up all our food and modest decorations, and were told we had to leave. I tried to reason with this guard (Tony) who told me "Leatrice doesn't know what she's talking about." I asked what rule we were breaking and he could not provide an answer. I asked what we could possibly do differently in order to avoid violating their rules (for example, take away the single balloon we put up?) and Tony again simply told us to leave at once and that he would call the police. As we were packing up (no easy feat with multiple babies there) he was admonishing us to hurry. His behavior was arbitrary, capricious, and rude, given the fact that his colleague assured us the day before that we could have a quiet gathering, and because we were not in breach of any of the park's enumerated rules. In fact, at one point, I could see a random bystander trying to get Tony to change his decision. I think the fact a neutral party took our side...

As soon as you enter this hidden oasis, you won’t help but notice all the lively green to be seen.

This location has plenty of outdoor seating and three separate food courts.
