Exquisite Choir and fabulous Organ/Organists. Worship is high-church style with quite some Anglo-Catholic features. Noticed some minor liturgical hiccups during the Eucharist on All Saints Day 2022. F. ex. Organ music stopped way ahead before the ablutions were completed, people remained kneeling for the Dismissal/Ite missa est. Looking at the Bulletin, it was sometimes not clear what is sung and what is spoken. A place welcoming lots of tourists and one-time visitors needs to be accurate here and the parish has definitely the human and financial resources for this. Not sure about the Rector‘s purely anecdotical „homily“, it stood in stark contrast with the elegant, traditionalist rest of the service. They are webcasting many of their services, which is wonderful. Yet they should choose a more user-friendly solution for giving with a mobile phone, such as National Cathedral‘s implementation of EasyTithe on...
Read moreSt. Thomas’s Church & St. Patrick’s Cathedral are both very close to each other and are a must see. After visiting St. Patrick’s Cathedral I was already mesmerized, thinking that nothing could be better. After looking at this small church from outside, i wasn’t expecting much but i was taken aback more than from the cathedral. There was beautiful organ music playing in the backround and everything was very well arranged, they even have an art gallery where you can view different artifacts. Although this church is not nearly as fancy as the Cathedral, it was much more peaceful & it felt more like a church than a tourist attraction. Also upon viewing the front closer, I realized that a real person was playing the organ, amazing job to him. Lastly the architecture did NOT dissapoint, everything looked amazing & this blew my expectations out of the...
Read morethe church is beautiful. when you walk inside and look to your right there is a prayer to god with paintings of st. Michael and st. gabriel. when you walk in through that far right door there is a small prayer area with a picture of st. thomas where you can light candles and put money in their donation box. the front of the church is just like you would expect. very gothic. i go there to light candles for relatives and meditate. sadly going in when teens are there isnt the best. i once was there and some teens were playing with the organ. another time i visited and there were teens wrestling and yelping. its just not a place to do that. especially for those that need quiet and are seeking some spiritual comfort. whoever was chaperoning them should have scolded them. aside from that, it's a beautiful church. its a great place to sit...
