I dealt directly with Geoff Hess and it was a very poor experience. I sent several rare watches directly to the auction house to be stored in their vault. Without authorization, Geoff took the watches home unsecured to his apartment.. when he called me he had said he had the watches Infront of him at home.. this was not authorized by me. He proceeded with a very poor attitude and spoke with great disrespect towards me. I quickly asked that he immediately return my goods to the auction house. I then asked one of the girls at the office to return the watches back to me. Some came back with scratches on the bracelet and or crystal that were not previously present. I am lucky I got them back at all. I ended up going with a competitor auction house who took very good care of me. This makes the perfect atmosphere for showcasing the art and best of all you’ll be able to take your time to enjoy each piece because it’s not crowded . There is plenty of room to navigate walkers , wheelchairs and canes . I personally think those who are autistic and have sensory issues would enjoy a visit here too . Plenty of benches to sit and take a break if needed . There is also a water fountain and very nice restroom complete with a larger stall for those with a disability . Be very careful of mysterious fees: they will charge you 3% "credit card fee" although this is not disclosed in buyer agreement.
I was ripped off for paying 17% import fees because this company force you to use their "broker services", which over charge you, and Phillips get a % of the fees: SHADY TO THE BONE!
This place is becoming the "$hit house for items" that other auction house is refusing.
You should also note, Sotherby and other auction house are charging 20% premium, and they have a larger buyer pools for your item, so there is no reason why you should go to Phillips.
