Today I went to pick up my items. There was four of them. I go in and the black female sales associate greets me kindly and makes small conversation with me and I think everything is going fine until she comes back upstairs after taking quite some time downstairs and instructs me that I again have to show her the paperwork I just showed her.
For those of you that don’t know ,when something is ordered online and shipped to the store the person that ordered it has to fill out a form stating who is coming to get it along with their ID and then when the person who is picking it up comes in ,they have to show their ID along with the paperwork from the purchaser. I did this. She tells me I need to show her the pick up form again I said for what I showed it to you earlier and I showed you my ID why are you asking again. I immediately became defensive because I knew exactly what was happening I was being racially profiled and that by another black person. Long story short her white coworker came to de-escalate the situation and just asked me to show him what I showed her and I did and he said no problem ma’am we will go downstairs and get your packages. They bought them upstairs and I want about my business.
GUCCI, if you are reading this, if you do not enforce and reinforce proper customer service you are going to get lawsuits in the future. What your sales associate did was completely unacceptable.
I also want to inform you that not everyone that has money looks like they have money. I’m not saying that I did not look put together. I did. But I believe wholeheartedly is was because I was black that they felt that something unlawful was going on and they wanted to be sure yet had absolutely NO REASON to feel that way!
High-end stores need to understand that you’re inklings, and your feelings are not always correct. I have a son that if he came into your store after work you would chase him out with a broom not recognizing that he could spend four months or more of your sales associate paycheck at one time.
Please OVER-STAND that Black People MAKE MONEY AND WE HAVE MONEY TO SPEND. Period!! And we will spend it wherever we like on what ever we want because we want to and because we like it.
We don’t do it to prove to you or anyone else we have this or that, we do it because WE CAN! End of story!
Will I spend my money on Gucci again? Yes! And It’s because I like it and do NOT CARE that you don’t like me. While you Stay mad because I spend money in your stores I’m going to STAY happy because We have the money and you...
Read moreFirstly, I fully support this brand and have had an appreciation for it since childhood. Secondly, this is my favorite location that I have ever shopped at thus far. From it being in New York, NY, it being the flagship location in this region and the overall aesthetic and layout of the store, stellar! And so, I’d like to take this time to show both my appreciation and support for this brand and overall company. With that being said; I’d like to take this opportunity to clear my name first and foremost! Not that it was ever in speculation in the first place based upon facts, but just to both further clarify and confirm. I both want and need to make it publicly known that I am no longer tied to, connected with, nor have any affiliation with any former employee of Gucci at this specific location due to both personal and professional (or lack there of) reasons pertaining to their prior employment at Gucci. In fact, I haven’t allowed said person to be apart of my life since 2024. Both personally and legally. I want/need to make it abundantly clear that I DO NOT AT ALL; support, condone, etc. any illegal activity within someone’s employment. I never have and I never will. I do not believe in lying, cheating, STEALING, etc. the “System” for personal gain and/or benefit in any way, shape or form. And especially, not when it puts the lives of those around them in direct harms way, unknowingly. I never have been nor would be involved in such pitiful acts of unlawful-unprofessionalism. I have not ever and will not ever stand by anyone nor anything who has done so otherwise because that’s just NOT, ME. Regardless of the relationship, regardless of the time, etc. Right is right and wrong is wrong. And so, I both PROUDLY; stand with Gucci, their brand, their products and their decisions to have moved forward with taking legal matters into their own hands when it came to pursuing legal action against said person.
Gucci, thank you for your brand and its heritage! And thank you for continuing to put out a timeless product throughout the years. I’ll always remember my first Gucci purchase at 17 years young at your Westchester Mall location. Followed by my first purchase at your flagship location, so on and so forth.
And thank you; for ultimately helping me help myself in ways that you’re unaware of, but have helped me help myself for the rest of my life,...
Read moreGood morning Mr. Pini, For the first time I find myself in a customers position with an extremely disappointing experience from a highline brand. My fiance and I were at your New York City flagship store in early September she and I made several purchases. She however made one additional purchase. I was unaware of that was supposed to be a surprise Christmas gift to me unfortunately the only surprise I received is my fiance letting me know yesterday she had no other choice but to tell me about her experience With the store and with an employee. My fiance saw advisor their name Michael there was a bag I was extremely interested in she and Michael somehow purchased this bag and Michael had it FedEx to her home so that I would not be aware of it hence Christmas surprise gift. my fiance got a notification from FedEx saying that the package was delivered. This is where the trouble begins. The package was never delivered by FedEx it apparently was delivered to another address as far as I’m concerned this is a Gucci and FedEx issue and my fiance should be immediately removed from the middle of this problem. She has been nothing but bounced around and ignored. I have text messages between her and Michael that eventually went dormant. That issue needs to be resolved. That’s problem number one and problem number two is Michael made a comment to my fiance when she was purchasing a belt he said to her “he should be paying for that“ my fiance was taken back by it didn’t think too much of it and didn’t tell me right away by myself. Fine is extremely unprofessional considering the money that I spent in that store that day and have spent with your brand prior to I to work for one of the globes largest and most recognised brands BMW in my professional experience any of what I have outlined would be completely unacceptable by brand standards alone. I understand you are a busy individual what I’m looking for is my fiance to be refunded and a new bag to be shipped out I am looking forward to someone contacting me from your office to resolve this manner today. I have emailed five different executives with no response from them This...
