TWStudios: Chelsea — Attraction in New York

our class used to be held with Rise Dance, but when they disbanded we reached out to the studio to figure out how to keep it going if possible! they were so nice and let us know exactly what they needed from us in order to keep the class going at this studio. it was wonderful.

fast forward two years later, management changes and everything else changes with it. what used to be a seamless transition, turned into a nightmare. we reached out a month in advance to book, but was told it was too soon to book. then when we followed up we were told that our time slot was no longer available because another one of their other clients were expanding even though we had requested the same time slot continuously for two years. long story short, management did nothing to address our concerns and kept changing their excuse as to why we could not have the times we were requesting (e.g. - other client, vision of the studio etc.)

they did however paint the lobby and move the chair around - but the studios are still falling apart and the bathroom and chairs are disgusting. there is no regard for customer service - so book at...

If you actually need to use the studio, don't rent here, because they can and will cancel your reservation on short notice.

I reserved a large studio, six months in advance, for 4 full days in April, 2016 for an educational event for 35 people coming from all over the States, Canada, and Europe. I had a written Rental Agreement, but Chelsea Studios informed me by email 5 weeks before the event that they preferred to give the space to someone else and therefore were cancelling my reservation. From their email: "Theatreworks has come into an opportunity to work [with someone else and]...I am forced to preempt [you]...Obviously, your invoices are void." When they make a reservation, what they mean is: I'll rent the space to you unless I get a better offer.

I have spoken to others whose reservations were cancelled, so my experience is not an isolated incident.

So if you don't really need the space, go to Chelsea Studios. But if you actually want to use the space on the day of your reservation, consider booking elsewhere: their reservation is worthless, as is their word.

After reading the post about this company cancelling events for their customers.. I called to confirm an event I scheduled with this venue and explained that I was concerned about them cancelling and they surprisingly cancelled my event in an email after they dodged my phone calls... They are very unprofessional and I swear before God I pray they get shut down as soon as possible for discriminating on the members of my talent show by saying we would possible smoke weed like we were drug attacks. Do not waste your time booking an event here, they will only waste your time and money.. THEY WILL CANCEL ON YOU LAST MINUTE!! Management is very unprofessional and rude do go here I repeat DONT BOOK THIS VENUE IF YOUR SERIOUS ABOUT...
