I’ve been to this nail salon quite a few times and even sent family members/friends there. I’m actually located in close proximity to five other nail salons in my neighbouring area. I CHOOSE to walk 15 mins to Vanna’s Nails and spend my money there. Today, I didn’t make an appointment ahead of time. I called and asked if there was any openings and the guy on the phone said yes come in. He’s the son-in-law of the owners. Now, upon arriving - I have never seen this girl before. But I quickly realized she was the owner’s daughter. Sloppily dressed and her attitude to match, she treated me like I was just another number. I politely inquired if her mom was available to do my nails, I was quite aware of the fact that I did call last minute. She started to blabber on that her mom was busy and she has appointments all day long and can’t take me. I said ok no problem!. I was told to go do my pedicure first and someone will do my nails after.
Now the girl who did my pedicure was absolutely wonderful. I had no complaints. When the time came to do my nails, there was some confusion which I did not mind - it happens! The girl who did my pedicure started buffing off my nails and soaking them , then she sent me to the front where Vanna’s daughter told me to go “sit over there and wait”. I said I just want my acrylics removed and a simple manicure, not a fill in. She said ok sit down! I sat down and she proceeded to buff off my nails again and told me to stop stiffening my finger. At this point I was very uncomfortable with her attitude and demeanour. She obviously lacked customer service and I wasn’t sure if this was her personality or if she was in a bad mood. She told me to get up and move again to soak my nails followed by more attitude.
I did sit down and proceeded to soak my nails again but was just turned off by her sour attitude that I COULD NOT STAY. I put on my shoes and ruined the polish on my pedicure because I just wanted to get out of there. I’ve worked in hospitality and I know damn well no one who takes my money talks to me like that. I’ve delivered world class 5 stars customer service for one of the top resorts hotel company in the world. Vanna, who did my nails before seemed like a nice lady but I wouldn’t be returning because they treat you like another number after reading other people’s reviews on here. I wouldn’t be spending another dime here. For a lack of better words, her daughter was a total PIG. I hope she reads this. Just because your parents own the place doesn’t mean you can act like a self entitled b**. You will turn away all their customers.
/// I highly highly encourage you that if you still choose to go spend your money here and end up having a bad experience, that you PLEASE come back and share it here so everyone else can see. Save someone else the pain and their money from going here. Also, I highly encourage everyone to rank their reviews from lowest and read them. You will see that even the owner herself has a lot of attitude. She just sat back and watch her daughter blast off on me after collecting my money when I told her that I will not be back. The audacity of...
Read moreUpdate 2024: Me and my mom went to Po for acrylic nails in August 2023. I got a full set and my mom a filling. We BOTH got a nail infection. I had to go to urgent care for antibiotics my nails were oozing! I haven't been there since. My big toe was also developing a brown area in the corner. I don't believe this place washes their tools. Would not recommend. ‐--------- I've gone to this nail salon for a while now I usually get a gel manicure this was my second time getting acrylic nails at this location. I went to Vanna the literal person the shop is named after. I heard good things about her. I gave her the benefit of the doubt last year she did my nails and the shape was good but the tip didn't fit the entire nail she doesn't know how to apply gel polish it was messy and bumpy. This time was TERRIBLE (see picture attached) extremely thick acrylic I can see the bump near the cuticle and the ACRYLIC IS FAR FROM THE CUTICLE. I'd need a fill tomorrow. . Absolutely the worse I've ever got my nails. 5 min after they were done I asked to get them removed. The lady doing my moms gel manicure looked at them and said "oh yea it's too thick and away from cuticle". Imagine this is the owners wife who did them. . .
Po is the only one I'll let do my nails, she did my gel mani so good, and I've seen her do tips and they look really good. She makes sure your nails aren't bumpy or add too much on your nail. I don't recommend Vanna at all.
This picture was taken about 5 min after I was finished. I had glue or acrylic under my cuticles on my other hand as well, no nail polish at the tips of my nails either. ridiculous The guy that answers the phone and greets you is very nice, I told him I'd like to remove them and showed him the issue he gave me $5 off (of $15) to remove them and said there's no refund (I expected that no worries). But I'm getting a gel mani and removal is $5 he still charged me for the removal when my nails clearly look bad. Also I asked for almond shape and this...

Several baby sized roaches crawled on my feet and 1 on my legs as I sat at the dryers. I killed 4, which is why I say several. My companion actually pointed one out on me, as I watched a larger water bug actively dying on it's back next to the pedicure chairs.
I am introverted and struggle with speaking up on my own behalf, otherwise, I think NO ONE should tolerate how gross this actually is to experience in a place of business.
What sent me was that during and at the end, the tech had the audacity to act like I was going to run off with already smudged nails (had to keep walking back and forth because they kept going on and on about paying AS SOON AS the tech was done with my nails and toes wth? And the guy you pay is at the front of the store, I was at the back of the store). Most certainly will not go back or ever recommend. Was a truly unpleasant experience in what should have been an after work treat. I am also not a regular there, so they genuinely didn't care about me. I loved the color I chose, but that lasted less than a week due to the smudging and soon after the chipping of the polish within a day or two. While my toes were also smudged, the color lasted (with chipping and smudging that I covered over with top coat etc) about 2 weeks and I got a lot of compliments on the color. Also, ol' girl did scrub the meow outta my feet during the prep for the manicure, which I appreciated since I'm on my feet all day. I give 2 stars, albeit problematic toward the middle and end, for her tenacious...
