Went in to this "antique" store today, and we are definitely disappointed. Putting quotes for antique atsto because this definitely doesn't qualify as a true antique or vintage store. First, 80% of the store has new items that you see at many gift shops ( in a majority of beach towns). From seashells, to decor, to mass manufactured dragons, to the same dolphins I've seen 20+ times, to nightlights, blown glass items, etc. If it's categorized as a "gift, new/used, etc" that would be different, but when it's advertised online and outside/inside the store as an "antique" store, and it's not......well, in my opinion that's false advertising. If that wasn't bad enough the next issue is most of the vintage or "antique" items (more vintage, since something has to be at least 100 years old to be categorized as antique, and most of the vintage stuff in here wasn't) was way too high. There were many items that I already own, have sold, and other items I'm very familiar with (we buy/sell/trade antique and vintage items constanly) and the prices on average were at least 30% to 60% too high. For example, one item sells in many antique stores, on Etsy, on eBay, etc for $25 and it was priced around $54. Generally antique stores always have some items priced too high, but when it's to the extreme, that is ridiculous. The other issue I have is I had a question about an item that I did want, and wanted to ask about reducing the price (which generally antique stores will. Sometimes if a store has separate vendors they have to call that specific vendor). Anyway, I went to ask her (didn't even get the question out), started talking, she looked at me, and walked away without saying anything. I know she saw me .I find this rude, and uncalled for. Regardless if you are having a bad day you don't ignore a customer and walk away from them. We had it after that and left our items we we're going to buy and walked out. I don't care that I wanted a specific item really bad. I don't deserve that, neither do other customers in there. Another person left as well .So, this treatment was the cherry on top after all the other issues with this place. It's too bad, because I read the reviews online before coming in and I was excited about coming in. When we planned our trip over a month ago we looked up places to go to and we put this store on our top ten list. We are not from here and drove 6 hours to stay here and to have such a horrible experience shopping while on vacation is just really sad. In my opinion I would not recommend this place and if I could give it zero stars I would. I'm glad other people had a good experience in this atost, and I hope that other people in the future do, but like I said I won't recommend this place to anyone, and I definitely won't be back. In my opinion the advertising needs to be clearer and more kindness needs to happen. Thank you, and...
