I recently visited the CAVA location at Ellis Preserve, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. My friends and I had ordered online ahead of time, selecting 6:00 PM as the promised pick-up time for each of our meals. We arrived right at 6:00, only to find ourselves waiting for over ten minutes with no mobile orders coming out. A cluster of frustrated customers began forming, all experiencing similar delays.
Thankfully, a corporate representative from CAVA, who happened to be on-site for an inspection, overheard our concerns. She approached us, apologized for the inconvenience, and offered us each a voucher card to compensate for the wait. She also went up to the workers to escalate the issue, which finally prompted them to offer free fountain drinks as a gesture of goodwill (though they were out of lids). Additionally, the corporate representative kindly provided the Wi-Fi login to help us pass the time while we waited.
Despite these efforts, it took another 20 minutes for our orders to be ready. When they finally arrived, the food was a complete letdown. My friend’s bowl had only a few pieces of steak—much less than she typically receives at other CAVA locations. My pita was entirely wrong and poorly made. I had ordered a pita with two types of hummus, falafel, feta cheese, Israeli salad, and lemon herb tahini. Instead, I received one filled with green harissa sauce, yogurt dill, pickles, and onions. The only correct ingredient was the falafel. The preparation was also incredibly sloppy, with sauce dripping everywhere, even outside the pita. The bread was poorly folded and fell apart as soon as I unwrapped it.
By this point, we were running late and didn’t have time to raise additional complaints. What was supposed to be a convenient meal turned into a frustrating ordeal.
The only redeeming aspect of this experience was the corporate representative’s intervention and professionalism. Her efforts were appreciated, but the lack of organization and quality from the workers at this location was unacceptable. Read moreI could have came here on my worst day and still could have left with a smile. I don’t visit Cava often. There are many food items to choose from and I felt unprepared to order. Sierra greeted me right when I came in. I expressed my hesitation in choosing what to eat with Sierra and she said, “that’s what I am here for.” She walked me through the entire process and recommended flavors that went well with each other. She even recommended her go-to combinations(date-balsamic and garlic dressing to name one-YUM). I have never experienced this type of customer service at Cava. As a matter of fact I have never experienced this type of customer service at other similar fast-casual style eateries. Aside from my upstanding experience with Sierra, my Mediterranean bowl had to be the best I have ever had. Rather than me explain what I had, go visit Cava of Newtown Square and let Sierra whip you up a customized dish just for you, based off your preferences.
The team in this store is warm and welcoming and the store is kept immaculate. The staff at this store value being there and made me feel welcome. I don’t write reviews often.
