take out was busy and I did an online order so it was as simple as walking in and grabbing it from the shelf - food came out fast.
Since this is a fast food version of a number of different high end chef's creations, I started the barometer low not expecting much, but I was curious if they could pull it off.
I was pleasantly surprised and think, that as a critical foodie, they did indeed pull it off. If this were an actual restaurant focused on one menu, I would probably give 3.5 stars but since this is a LOT of menus in one place with options for a lot of people, I am pushing it up half a star all around and going with 4.
I ordered the Streetbird by Marcus Samuelsson M's Fried Chicken Sandwich Deluxe (American Cheese , Lettuce) Streetbird Onion Rings Jarritos Lime Soda for 11$ a good value for sure.
The onion rings were actually really crunchy and solid...and the spiced garlicky white dipping sauce complimented well. They were better than the sandwich. I would eat these again for sure.
The sandwich wasn't bad...decent sized white chicken cutlet still warm 20 minutes later when I got to eating it...pretty crunchy batter...bread was a simple soft potato bun. Like chic fil et, but certainly better...not bad. Chicken was a little simple and lacked something, but will appeal to the masses for sure. Nice sweet butter pickles to contrast the meat. Good, but if I were chef Samuelsson I don't know if I would want my name on this - he is certainly far better than that...although he is probably getting paid well for the name on the menu.
Got a hungry gnome cookie as well (dark and white chocolate toffee) to top it off and the onion rings were still the best thing I ate - the cookie is ok, but not worth almost 5$ (it is a big 6 oz cookie) and definitely not homemade looking like the photo..it was perfectly round and mass produced looking. wouldn't get that again.
and you can't go wrong with a...
Read moreWe knew the Wonder location was coming for a little bit and were excited to try it. At first we thought the concept was that it was 3/4 restaurants in the location that rotate that make the food there. We opened up the website to order and saw there were 20+ restaurants to order from. This should have been a red flag for me. I guess the concept is a ghost kitchen that prepares the food there and the restaurant's themselves are OK with putting their name on the product (I would advise them against it).
I ordered the cheesesteak it was extremely small and the meat itself tasted like it was reheated and microwaved. The burrata with the peppers was dosed in pesto and didn't really taste like burrata. My wife had the baba ganoush and the labneh. The baba ganoush just tasted like plain hummus and the labneh was watered down. We were excited to try it but I think you are better served by just experiencing all of the great local restaurants we have...
Read moreUnfortunately I can't give this restaurant a good review my My wife ordered me a chicken sandwich but the deep fry oil is cross contaminated with shrimp . So if you have a seafood allergy like me I would not recommend ordering from here! The chicken tasted like shrimp! And I had a slight reaction. I wish restaurants would have a separate fryer...
