I have been trying to schedule an appointment with Neisa for a week but with work, it had been so challenging. I finally scheduled an appt for Saturday at 9:00 am but an hour before heading out my mother-in- law said she was too sick to watch my youngest son and we had construction going on at our home that my husband had to supervise. I was so embarrassed to cancel last minute on Neisa after they had been so accommodating to reschedule that I decided to bring my youngest son with me. The new location is located in downtown my Skokie, literally in the heart of downtown Skokie. Unlike at their old location, this location has a beautiful big sign that reads āCKā and there is two hour parking on both sides of the street- good luck finding that luxury in Chicago! The studio itself is a dream- it is much bigger than their previous location. It looks beautiful and the lighting is everything- you feel so relaxed the moment you step in. I love the decorations and the positive energy in the air. You can tell by the layout that the salon invested a lot of time and energy into planning, its definitely a high end salon! Neisa greeted me at the door and took me to the back to wash my hair. She had every intention of giving me an massage while washing my hair but my little guy started crying so she had to wrap it up. No one wants to hold a fussy baby while getting a haircut but I had no choice as he was really fussy. Neisa was SO understanding which made me feel less nervous and in return, made my baby feel less fussy. She dried my hair first and At one point I had to put my head down for her to cut my hair but my baby started crying. There was a lady nearby that told the owner she can watch my baby while I get my hair cut. The owner came over and insisted that they help. I was holding back tears because itās been a roller coaster with my kids this month and I havenāt had any time for myself to take care of my own needs because I was so focused on my kids so the fact that they insisted on it, I couldnāt be more grateful. Embarrassed because I had to bring him to begin with but so grateful for their understanding and even willingness to help. Neisa did her magic, she advised me not to dye my hair as I have extremely fine hair. She said that it is best for me to just let my hair grow out a little more and then I can decide if I want to change colors. I donāt know what she did to my hair but my hair felt so smooth, it looked so much healthier and it didnāt feel like it was heavy. She restored the shine that I so badly needed and got rid of my split ends. I asked her to keep the length and she did but she still took off the damage. I also asked her questions about different masks to put in my hair and she advised me well based on my needs. I love that she is so knowledgeable and that her years of experience brought so much insight. She suggested I get a hair masque from Kerastene to put on around the house and she also advised me not to tie my hair up with plastic hair ties as itāll cause breakage. She understands that I donāt have hours upon hours to dedicate to beauty but did advise me on what I can do here and there that makes a huge difference down the road. I love Neisaās honesty- she tells you like it is regarding your hair whether or not you get mad but itās her duty to tell you if you ask her. So grateful to her. She curled my hair and honestly, I left her chair feeling a million times better than when I arrived. I thank everyone for holding my baby while I got a much needed haircut. I will definitely not bring my baby next time but I wholeheartedly appreciate everything CK studio did and I will ever forget that. A small gesture goes a long way. This is a female owned and operated business. Their prices are not for the weak, this is a high end salon, you get what you pay for and thatās always quality. I canāt praise them enough, especially Neisa or as they call her, Cooper Queen for her luscious and beautiful orange/red hair....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI initially came into CK around December of 2022 to see Neisa for a root touch-up for my then-blonde hair. I had gone from a deep red to a complete blonde that summer and got my hair colored at a different salon. I knew my hair wasn't the healthiest due to the bleaching it had endured, but I wasn't expecting to hear the extent of it from Neisa. The minute I sat down in Neisa's chair, she was prompt to inform me that my hair's integrity, strength, and overall health was completely botched. And she did so in the kindest way possible, ensuring that she truly cared for my hair and its health. This was refreshing, as I know most hairstylists would have probably proceeded to compromise my hair and they would have bleached it further. That first "root touch-up" appointment quickly became a consultation for the next steps we can take to ensure my hair didn't receive any further damage. We discussed taking me back to my natural hair color (red hair) and obviously treating my hair with hydrating masks. Knowing that Neisa specializes in and adores working with redheads, I felt confident and assured that I was going to be taken care of adequately. That day, Neisa sent me home with a Kerastase mask and oil to treat my hair with every day until my next appointment with her. I returned a few weeks later, and Neisa got to working her magic right away. I underwent my major hair transformation... and let me just tell you... I loved every single minute of it. Neisa vocally walked me through each and every step she took when doing my hair, which put me at ease. Not only that, but conversing with her is relaxing, comforting, and immensely enjoyable. Once she finished my hair, Neisa made me feel more beautiful than ever! It was evident that Neisa is highly skilled at what she does, not only that, she makes her clients feel and look incredible. In the short amount of time I have known Neisa, it is blatantly clear that she is viciously talented at what she does, and she is able to do so while boosting the confidence of all her clients. Neisa is an absolute gem and I have already recommended her to practically everyone I know! I look forward to every appointment I have with Neisa because I know I'll leave the salon feeling even more beautiful inside and out. I can't thank her enough for everything she has done for the health of my hair, and my confidence. If you have found yourself looking for a new stylist, GO TO NEISA!!! I promise you most definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSonal ruined my hair. I had an existing balayage done by her which was decent but nothing special. She left one streak in the back of my head btw.
Recently, I cut my bangs and needed to brighten up the front section to blend with the rest of my hair. I asked for color block sectioning - meaning that ā I wanted my bangs and side pieces lighter than the rest of my hair but still matching the rest of the balayage tone.
I explained I wanted these sections blended with my existing balayage. However, I didnāt want streaky or JUST highlighted bangs either.
Like the top photo, I wanted a heavy bleach on the bottom of the bangs and then blended carefully into the roots. I didnāt bleach to the roots. I explained how I wanted it cohesive with the balayage I have now.
Clearly, this confused her because she didnāt understand what I was asking for. I showed plenty of reference photos AND I also showed her what I didnāt want either. I felt like my simple request was bothering her and it was an uncomfortable interaction.
I couldnāt believe I left the salon looking this way. Trust me, in person, it was much worse. She suggested fixing her mistake, but I was concerned I would leave even more dissatisfied. Donāt go to Sonal if youāre looking for anything outside of just a standard balayage.
Also, my hair was virgin hair in the front and she always insisted on toning me darker than I wanted to be. Not to mention, she wouldnāt ever let me be ash tones when I REQUESTED ash. If thatās what I want, please listen to your clients instead of talking...
