I have never written a negative review for a vendor, but I feel compelled to be honest about Kim Brown’s services—Kim Brown was literally the ONLY thing stressful about my wedding.

I am a distance bride getting married in my hometown of Oklahoma City, and initially Kim felt like the perfect fit. After TWO trials, however, I was completely dissatisfied for a number of reasons—she continuously tried to reschedule me for her personal reasons, she was unable to match skin tone properly, and somehow my requested natural look left me looking like a cheerleader. During my second trial, my requested soft, charcoal liner landed me with a thick, black cat eye. She simply wouldn’t listen and as an icing on the cake, her services always ran longer than her stated schedule, with complete disregard for my other appointments.

I attempted to sever services with Kim seven weeks prior to the wedding date, hoping she would have time to book other services and not lose money. With this understanding, she agreed to a refund of my remaining deposit. She then disappeared for a month and later came back to rescind her offer of a refund. Her final communication to me was rude, disrespectful, and utterly unprofessional. She even admitted that she has a cash flow problem with her business and can’t afford a $100 refund!

She was a nightmare to schedule, to confirm, to communicate with, and she is not a woman of her word. I mean it truthfully—she has been my ONLY source of stress during this joyful...

If I could give Tristen more than 5 stars, I would! She truly is that great! I have been going to her for awhile now. I use her for both waxing and facials. Her waxing technique is second to none! She is quick and efficient making it a more bearable experience!😂 When I went in for my very first facial with her, I was sunburned from a couple days before. Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to do as in depth of a treatment on my skin she suggested I reschedule. At no cost to me. She definitely did not have to do that! It was my mistake, and she lost money that day. She truly cares about her clients! She doesn’t overwhelm and push a bunch of products, but does sell great products and will help with recommendations. She also has some really cute items in her shop too! As an esthetician, even though I don’t practice, I’m kinda picky about who I choose to go to for these professional services! Honestly, it had been a year since I attempted a Brazilian. I went to another Norman Salon and had a nightmare experience . It took well-over an hour, the lady was not very kind, made me feel very insecure and it was so painful with some terrible irritation. Did I mention this was before my wedding? Yeah not awesome. But I decided to try again and stumbled upon Tristen at Wax and Relax and I was BLOWN AWAY. Maybe 15 minutes from the time she started, and it was over. Though, it wasn't painless (you are waxing your friggin hoo ha) it was tolerable and quick. She was very nice and made me feel comfortable .
