My son and I love this mall for so many reasons:
North Star Botique. They have some of the best stock. They have $5 earrings, to native tapestries, as well as various candy that's made locally, and our favorite Fogulpops! My son loves the figures that range from $7-$18. Personally, I'm into collectibles, and they offer an AMAZING variety of very collectible Fogulpops. I buy at least 2 or 3 per month. Plus, best of all, the people who work there are amazing. They always have something for the kids, whether it's free coloring books or whatever.
Asylum Minigolf & Arcade. The owner, Scott, is a great person. My son and I usually go in every Sunday, but now that Scott has made the games half price on Wednesdays as long as the game doesn't dispense prizes or toys, we've started going in on Wednesdays also. The arcade is always looking for new creative and fun ideas, not just for kids but for all ages, and they do a number of events, for example, Halloween. I have fun going into the arcade and playing the punching bag game and a couple of the shooting games they have.
I used to take my son to Village Day Care until I started working from home. It's a family owned and operated daycare that has a classroom setting, as well as an outdoor park, and a very large indoor soccer field. Then, in the summer, they take the kids to Pony Village Cinema for children's movies, plus they have great hours. "Mr. C" The main contact there is such a great guy. He's clearly there to cover his costs, but he's also a very reasonable person to work with when it comes to payment arrangements.
The Escape Room. Another place we love. The staff is very nice and full of information. My son is 6, and of course, I want him to have fun, so he asks the questions, and the staff is very good at responding to him and clarifying things. Sometimes we're in there for 20 minutes, sometimes the full hour, but the staff never has a problem letting us out early.
Boom Dance Studio. My son has been going to this studio for about 3 years. He has learned a lot and really developed through his time there. He absolutely loves it, which is the most important thing to me. But I have seen his self-confidence increase, as well as his physical skills such as balance and coordination, and he's even a little more outgoing than when he started. The instructors are awesome, including the volunteers. Then, every season, they have a dance showcase for all of the different levels. Of course, all of the kids love these. I highly recommend this place for any dancer.
This mall has clearly chosen very good businesses, not just in terms of financial revenue, but in helping to set the standard and backbone for our communities through local business incentives. Thank you, Pony Village Mall and all of the store owners...
Read moreI visited her from out of town, specifically the Portland area. I do have to say I was completely underwhelmed and disappointed with my experience here at the mall when I saw that there was a mall in the coos Bay North bend area. I was excited and thought that that would be a good sign of things to do and stores to shop at. I guess at one time this was a really great Mall as it's listed as having huge stores like Macy's and JCPenney's attached to it. There was even a GameStop sign on the outside of the mall. However, none of those stores exist there today. We also happen to go on a Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. in the mall hours listed are till 8:00 p.m. out of the 10 stores that I saw there, only three of them were open and they were the main anchor stores like Ross. I do think that as mall society has died down over time, the people of this community have learned to utilize this small space very very well. At a previous anchor store there seems to have been converted into a indoor football arena and there's lots of preschool daycare and homeschool type things that happen to be renting out space in them all. I think this is ingenious malls are dying and being able to utilize the space or other things is a great idea. However, as a out of towner it was a disappointing visit. Considering that nothing was there, everything was closed and there really wasn't anything for a...
Read moreMany of us locals know Pony Village as a safe, dry, and easy to navigate place to walk our pets on rainy days. A place to wander or enjoy a cup of coffee with friends. Thanks to the ongoing support and generosity of the Mall Owners, you will find many local small businesses and non-profits set up here as well. This is a fine place to discover new products and services you may have otherwise never heard of! During the wintertime, our local Farmers Market is held here. Many seasonal activities are housed here from the Garden Show, Bridal Show and many Christmas events we have come to know and love. Visit and you will notice is how clean, and well kept the mall is! It is also a safe place to let your kids shop and a nice gathering place for all ages. Sadly with the internet and the expansion of large corporations we have watched many shopping centers, malls, and small businesses collapse under pressure. Pony village has taken steps to conform to the changes and become a great place to conduct business like the ones I included in my review. Pony Village is stepping up to support our local economy and charities alike. You can still find several of the shops and restaurants you have grown to love. I hope you continue to support our local businesses, many of who are housed...
