The entire registration process was extremely efficient, kudos to the staff and the software. The asst mgr is new and apologized for taking too much time. I reminded her that it only took 15 mins and she shouldn't be so hard on herself. Bottom line: one of my best experiences in years!
Update after moving out:
When I rented a climate controlled unit at 422 Storage in April 2022, the facilities were very new.
I'll start with the good. The employees and management are extremely professional and seemed to have the customers best interests in mind. I remarked at the time that the initial paperwork process was the best I've experienced in any industry. The unit was clean and ready to move into. My unit was on the ground floor which made loading/unloading less strenuous.
The Bad: In hindsight, I should have paid more attention to the Protection Plan that was offered. I didn't read the contract (my fault) and if I had I would have gone with another insurance provider. When I moved out the unit a few weeks ago, I had to submit a claim (more on that later) which is when I fully read the plan contract. The unit does not have a light. There are lights in the corridor, but they don't project into the unit. It's difficult to move in the dark. The dolly's are limited in number (two when I moved in/one when I moved out) and light duty (unable to handle furniture or heavy loads). I know it's in the contract, but it would be nice to be able to prorate rent. When I moved out of the storage unit, I paid for another month when I only needed it for another week. If I had stayed one more month, I would have incurred two premium increases in the 1.5 years of my rental agreement. The increases totalled over 14%, which seems excessive, in spite of increased inflation.
Our unit had a water issue that couldn't be detected until we moved out. In the rear of the unit, there is a concrete channel in the floor. Water penetrated the unit floor at some point or points during the 1.5 years my household goods were stored there and damaged my sectional sofa.
Back to the GOOD. I contacted the manager and he came to my unit immediately and inspected the unit. He asked if I had the Protection Plan and emailed me the contact information so I could submit a claim.
The claim is being resolved at this time and I'm pleased with the outcome. The fine print I overlooked is the Protection Plan limit which in my case was $2000. I would have insured my contents for no less than 10 times that with another insurance provider. Again, my fault. Thankfully, the plan covered my current and only losses.

Now they are very unprofessional and quite nasty. They were very condascending towards me. That's why I got my stuff out of there as quick as I could! They have very poor customer service skills. The district manager is the worst of them. The manager told me one thing to get me to keep my things there and the dm told me a month later that they won't honor that and that's why the mgr got fired. They also have a very high turnover rate! The one part that was slightly frustrating when I went to check out there was no one the office and no one was answering the phone and it was during normal business hours, everything was just locked up, so I ended up walking around the place and couldnt find anyone, and after about 30 minutes someone came back to the office.
