Normally I love this restaurant and usually have a positive experience. I found no way to contact the owner on their useless website, so I am posting a negative review here about my experience tonight.

I like this place, so I took my daughter, her boyfriend, my grandson, and my mother-in-law out to dinner. This place was my choice. Do I ever regret that choice.

We'll start at the chicken fingers and fries I ordered for my grandson. They looked and tasted terrible due to the oil being old and dirty. Secondly the quality was not restaurant quality like you would get at any other restaurant. They were like the poor-quality processed garbage that you would buy precooked in the frozen section of the grocery store. Terrible.

Then they brought out mine and my daughter's boyfriend's order. We both ordered Fajitas Texanas. My favorite. I recommended it to him because it's such a generous portion, tastes great and is a fair value for the price considering how large the portion is. When they brought it out it was little over half the normal portion size that I'm used to when we come and some of my veggies were still raw and uncooked or un-sautéed.

Both of our refried beans were cold and runny and didn't even taste good.

I brought all my concerns to our server's attention. She told me that the portion was for only one person and that it was always this size and then she mumbled something about the kitchen when referring to the refried beans and walked away. She did absolutely nothing. Nothing at all. Just walked away.

I couldn't believe it. Normally we get the same waiter almost every time we come. He does an amazing job, and the food is always good and its generous portions.

This waitress was horrible. I didn't get her name since they don't wear nametags. She was short and heavyset. Thats about all I know. My receipt says the server was Adam. But my server was a female.

I spent $94.17 tonight and planned to spend more here in the future, but now I'm not so sure. Perhaps I should take that money to another...

I was never the person to complaint about restaurants until this one in particular Rey Azteca of Palmyra. My experience with this restaurant was one of the worse in my existence. The service was horrible, food was not the best, and there was a hair in my dish. My beverage cost was $3.00 on the menu and when handed the check it was $5.00. I was also charge 18% gratuity while dining with four people when you are only allowed to charge that 18% gratuity while dining with 6 or more people in PA. When ask to speak to a manager my server stated “ he is not here, he comes in and goes and will be back around 6:00 pm”. While being confronted about the bill he said “the system adds the 18% gratuity automatically after spending $100.00 or more”. Weird right? Mind you he made changes to the bill with out management. Weird again right?! On top of that there was a surcharge made on our credit card of $3.40 while never being informed about it prior to the bill. Also on the bill it states “there may be a surcharge or $4.70” yet i was charged $3.40 instead? ANYWAYS to avoid a whole scene we payed the remaining balance on the bill after the changes and we left the restaurant. After leaving the restaurant everything just didn’t make any sense whatsoever. We called the restaurant asking to speak to a manager and we were told to hold so they can get him on the phone. Turns out our server was the “MANAGER” the whole time, according to them of course. WEIRD ONCE AGAIN ! ! ! So to summon this up, our server clearly gave us false statements and lied straight to our faces. Customers please don’t be a victim to this kind of fraud and CHECK YOUR BILLS CAREFULLY!!! I can’t imagine how many people got taken advantage of without even knowing. Btw if our server was actually the manager then the owners in trouble! I would never even recommend this place to my...

UPDATE: August 2022. They raised their combo meal prices from about $12 to $14. I really like the place, the food, and the people as a regular patron (about 4 times a month) but for the price increase I cannot justify $14.84 (with tax) plus a 20% tip for 2 Tacos, Rice, Beans, and a water. I can go up the street to Texas Roadhouse and get a small sirloin steak and two sides for $9.99 (up until 5 o'clock) which I will be doing more often than I had been eating here. Sorry guys, you lost my business. OLDER POST: Excellent place! Clean. Fast. Great little business. 2nd time here and I am quickly becoming a regular as a person living here in Palmyra. Fair pricing as well. The guacamole was exceptional and was a first try tonight. If you are visiting the area don't let the weird name of this authentic Mexican restaurant or its plaza location fool you. I promise that you' will love it as much as much as my son and I do (his 4th time here). They are also not going to charge you extra either if you want guacamole or queso dip with your chips, aside from Salsa. Wait until you see the huge bowl of chips they bring you (mounded above the top). That alone will make you love them and want to order even more simply because you feel like you are treated so fairly. Love these people and am proud that they are located in our town! PLEASE TRY THEM! I suggest that you arrive early during tourist season or call and ask if they accept reservations as I am not tooo certain but I do know on a Friday night you might as well forget it unless you choose to wait it out.

UPDATE: Was back again - IT'S THAT GOOD. Sorry, they do charge if you want guacamole or queso dip. The price for guac is $6 and I am not sure for queso dip. I must not have realized...

A Speedy Feast, But Where's the Fiesta? Overall: A mixed bag. If you're ravenously hungry and in a hurry, this place delivers on quantity and speed. However, those seeking a flavorful culinary adventure might leave a little disappointed. Service: Lightning fast! Our food arrived practically before we'd settled in. However, a slightly awkward moment occurred with the waiter asking cash-paying tables about their change, creating a somewhat uncomfortable tip exchange vibe. The checkout process, unfortunately, was the polar opposite of the initial speed – painfully slow. Food: * Highlights: The sheer volume of food you get is impressive, and the service is undeniably quick. The rice and beans were cooked to a good texture, a solid foundation for any meal. The plátano (plantain) was also a pleasant highlight, cooked well and tasty. The salsa was fresh and clearly made with good ingredients. * Downfalls: The overarching issue was a distinct lack of spice. Everything seemed to have the components of a great meal, but the flavor profile was muted. As I kept thinking, "All the stuff is here, but the spice!" The rice and beans, while technically well-prepared, needed a flavor boost to truly shine. In essence: This restaurant is a study in contrasts. They nail the essentials – speed and generous portions – but stumble on the finer details, specifically the flavor and checkout experience. If you prioritize quantity and speed over a complex flavor profile, you might find this place satisfactory. But if you're looking for a vibrant, spice-filled meal, you might want to look elsewhere.
