Reviewed as a pinball league player. The good- Pins were in good shape, a bit dirty but I've seen worse. Only a quarter per play which is great! The bad- I played for almost an hour and not once did I get an in game warning let alone tilt. I did use some slap saves but again no tilt warnings. After another free game earned the owner comes up and tells me to take it easy at a quarter a game its hard to make it. He said that if I kept it up I could take my quarter back and go. He was not polite about it at all. After that I drained my last ball and left. Not a place for league type players or anyone who can play for any length of time. Its an arcade that he wants to keep quiet in a dead mall. I'll never go back and I'd recommend real players steer clear unless you need to play Insider connected for a streak. Don't play too long or he may ask you to leave lol Edit after owners response: I own 11 machines and take good care of all of them. A slap hit is not hurting the machine, and if you're upset that I'm tapping the buttons too hard you shouldn't be in the business of pinball. The pricing is your decision, I regularly pay up to a dollar per play that's why I said yours was great value. And as I said before, I never once got a warning let alone a tilt. I never smacked the glass or machine only the buttons. That is how many regular players play, again if you can't handle somebody hitting the buttons hard then maybe pinball isn't the business for you. Customer service sure wasn't the way you rudely said something to me. You could have just been a little nicer but no you came up with a scowl and a look on your face like I had just scratched your car when I touch nothing but buttons. And even in your response calling me a clown yeah you're a real polite owner...not. Anyway I love pinball but I wouldn't play here or pay this guy any money in the future. He's what's ruining this industry, especially for repeat customers.

So be glad you read this review because I’m gonna cover a lot of parental wins here! First and foremost if you are a kid/teen of the 80s/90s you are like me and get nostalgic a good old arcade that isn’t a ticket money grab. God bless the fellas who run this place because it was awesome and like stepping into a Time Machine! First dont miss it. Located in the defunct mall next to Bass Pro Shop this is a nerd paradise. The actual store is filled with Funko Pop (anyone wanna get the Orin Scrivello for me just hit me up), Old cartridge disk video games all the way back to Nintendo and Sega Genesis. Also in the store is manga, anime, and comic books. BUT the ultimate draw is the arcade cabinets which all cost…wait for it…25 cents!!! If you don’t have cash there is an ATM and they will make change for you! There is a handful of games in the Players Choice store and then another 20 or so next door. You’re wondering what the game line up is so here are some of the highlights. You have a selection of pinball and all your classics Dig Dug, Pac-Man, Frogger, Donkey Kong but here is what I played: Capcom vs Marvel Tapper Off-road Double Dragon Altered Beast Star Wars X-Men Spider-Man (Spidey, Namor, Hawkeye, Black Cat) At the End of the Day, this is a CHEAP and fun way to spend a couple hours in Myrtle Beach for families and parents looking to share why those scenes in Stranger Things were so important to the times!

I honestly don't get the handful of bad reviews. I visited for the first time two days ago, and the experience was fantastic. The store has a wide selection of items, and the displays are really fun to browse through. I was especially impressed by the old consoles they sell in like-new condition at surprisingly low prices. I bought a PlayStation 1, and it looks brand new, even without the box. Though it is true that some game cases were reproduction, at least appreciate them trying to make these 20 yr old+ games look presentable. My only suggestion is that they consider relocating to a more vibrant area to get more exposure, as the current mall seems to be declining

For years, I've returned to this shop at least once (sometimes twice) while visiting Myrtle Beach. It only makes sense that I now finally write a nice healthy and honest review on this shop. Clearly, I really like the place, because otherwise, I wouldn't have returned and emptied my wallet dozens of times. But why is it that I love this place so much? Well, let's break it down...

Player's Choice is basically a "1-stop-shop" for all nerd hobbies. From Comic Books, Collectables, and my go-to, Video Games; they've got tons of stuff for you to browse over. I am a Video Game Enthusiast and Collector, so I tend to be a little picky when going into these stores. Fortunately, Player's Choice has a wide variety of games and systems to chose from including my favorite, the Original Xbox and Xbox 360.

Price wise, everything seems to be priced very fairly and up to date. For example; on my last visit, I purchased Time Splitters Future Perfect. A game that I thought was going for around $40-50 was being sold for $18.95 which is why I snagged it up. Now, one thing about the video game world is prices can fluctuate rapidly on a weekly basis. Even as much of an Xbox Collector I am, game prices can significantly change quicker than I can even keep up. Low and behold, it had dropped to the $18-19 range proving myself wrong and the game fairly priced. This is by far my biggest pet-peeve regarding video game stores, but rest assure, at Player's Choice, you're not going to gouged.

You will on occasion find games with reproduction cases and artwork, but if you know what you're looking at and you have an experienced eye for those kind of things, you'll easily notice it. Pretty much all Video Game Stores do this to some degree so it's not really even a complaint, but it's worth mentioning. Too most people, this is honestly not a big deal as the game disc is most the time, good enough. Also, I can't confirm, but I think prices of games vary based off of condition/CIB. Don't quote me on that though.

My only reeeeal complaint is a very very minor one and it's absolutely my only one. It's one that only someone as ridiculous as me would even remotely complain about, but hey, I'm gonna say it anyway! The stickers used to price the video games are pretty hardcore. They end up becoming a little hard to remove cleanly. It's of course nothing a little goo-gone can't tackle, but like I said, minor complaint.... Anyways.

Through the years, I've purchased close to a 100 PS1, PS2, 360 and Xbox games from here and every single disc has worked flawlessly. Admittedly, I haven't played all that I've bought, but I can confidently say they're all in solid working condition. And that's all that really matters to me.

It's made clear after every purchase if you have any issues with order after a set amount of time, just reach out to them and they can get you taken care of. I 100% believe it too, because I too had an issue with mine. I was overcharged for a $.99 cent game resulting in a $9.99 game. Basically, just hit too many 9s on the register. I called, wasn't a Karen, and they told me to bring everything by the store to verify. I did and he noticed were he screwed up and offered to refund me the said amount, but I decided to just go ahead and use that as an excuse to use store credit for 1 more game. Problem Solved.

I wanted to bring this up because we're all human and no store is perfect. It's just nice to know that there's reliable customer support for when the unplanned happens and this shop owns it! It's abundantly clear that the employees that keep the shop running are just as enthusiastic about getting the video games into my collection as I am too. I really can't recommend this place enough. Player's Choice has a little of something for everyone. From enthusiast to someone just wanting to play Wii Sports, these guys got you covered!

PS. They also have a pretty rad Arcade Room that is absolutely worth checking out...

Had a great experience! I was recommended to visit the store by a different gaming store when I was looking to buy some 3DS games. However, the fist store I went to had none.

I called Players Choice and asked if they had a selection of 3DS games. A pleasant gentleman on the phone confirmed that they did.

My Fiancé and I made the drive up to the old North Myrtle Mall and browsed their selection for 15-20 minutes.

This store has an amazing collection of retro memorabilia and it truly feels like you take a step back in time as you enter the store. Not only is there the expected video games for older consoles, but there are also tons of collectable figurines, posters, etc. There is a collection of movies, both DVD and Blu-ray (I don't remember seeing any VHS, but that doesn't mean they don't have any, give them a call to find out). A section for comic books, truly anything you could ask for the fill you with nostalgia.

As far as prices are concerned, they seem to match the market pretty well. I have been searching around Facebook, eBay, and Amazon for a while now and most of what I saw in the store seems to be appropriately priced for fair market value.

The only con I can list is that they may not have exactly what your looking for. But that goes with out saying. Certain highly-sought after items may be limited or unavailable but thats hardly a knock against the company. They can only offer what they can get their hands on.

Overall, even if they don't have exactly what you're looking for, I would still recommend checking this place out. Its amazing how you get transported back in time the instant you step...
