Holiday Park Park & Recreational District — Attraction in North Port

Not a friendly place to live for singles. I would not recommend this place if you are a single female. This park is made up of people in groups and couples. They really don't let new people in, couples do have an easier time. The public water is bad in the park. They do not flush the hydrants inside the park to get the water moving and because of that the water is stagnant and it is not healthy to drink and it smells. There is propane gas in the park which is great but there's always problems with the propane company overcharging on their bills and not reading the meters. they are improving that situation, i was told. There are rules and regulations but they apply to people that are not a favorite. In the park you have to be someone they like or they will not do anything for you. I would stay away from this Park. I met some great people in this park that would agree with me. But they wouldn't say it public. I was told by a person that was in the park from the 1970s. They said it use to be a friendly place to live she was sad it changed. let's hope it changes back to the wonderful place...

We have owned in Holiday Park since 1984, rented it out for 20 years and then we became snow birds. You could not ask for a nicer park with nicer people. It is run well by the Manager and Trustees and kept very clean. As for activities, you can start at 8AM and come home at 8PM keeping busy with all the activities. When it comes to making friends, that is entirely up to you. there are some many things to do, and once you meet one person it snowballs into meeting other groups. My husband and I became snowbirds in 2003. I was 57 years old. Has the park changed in the past 22 years, yes it has. We have weathered two major Hurricanes, we have lost great friends as one does at our ages. But through it all the residents have worked together to bring our park back to it's glory days.
