Iāve only been to this AMC twice. My first experience was horrendous. I went to watch Incredibles 2, a few weeks after it came out on a Monday night 10:30pm showing. The couple next to me was so loud and obnoxious. The woman kept talking to the man and the man was constantly on his phone checking his instagram watching the stories and scrolling through his post feed. He refused to put away his phone. My fiancĆ© and I ended up leaving at the beginning. We talked to a manager and told her what happened. She gave us two free movie tickets so we could finish the movie another time. However, the tickets had a month and a half long expiration date. Itās a luxury for us to watch movies and having to be forced to watch it by a certain time put a damper on the whole experience especially when I purchased the original tickets using ones without expiration dates.
Because we were forced to watch the movie by August, we decided to go on July 4th in hopes of a non crowded theater. At the ticket stand, the worker called on us despite having her system rebooting so we ended up getting served 6 tickets later (the left window was fine). When we got into our theatre, it was fairly empty in the afternoon. However, in the row right below us, a family of 4 were being disrespectful. The mother nonstop talked. At first we didnāt notice because her voice was deeper and mumbled, but since the lady never stopped talking, when the movie would slow down and have itās quiet moments, all I could hear was her talk and talk and talk. When I realized the talking wasnāt part of the movie, we couldnāt tune her out. I even interjected and asked if someone was talking. At the end of the movie, her husband decided to stand up, turn around, and glare. My fiancĆ© stood up in response. He realized he was smaller and didnāt want to fight or say anything so he sulked away.
So far this theatre is 2 for 2 for having obnoxious, rude, and disrespectful guests. No matter the time or day, the guests just donāt have a care in the world or want to listen to the rule of āno talking, no phonesā in a theatre. It was extremely frustrating because apparently in this theatre, the workers either donāt feel like or want to patrol the individual rooms which is unlike other AMCs. Thereās no reprieve when people want to pretend theyāre watching a movie at home and blather to their heartās content. We stayed the second time because we didnāt want to come back a third and have to rewatch a good chunk of the movie.
After finishing the movie, we both went into the bathroom. The male stalls seemed to be fine according to my fiancƩ but when I entered the female restrooms, the place was filthy and a mess. The first stall had cardboard, paper, toilet paper, and paper towels everywhere. The second stall had poop on the toilet and in the toilet. The third stall had toilet paper everywhere.
TLDR: I highly do not recommend this theatre. Messy bathrooms, no patrolling ushers, loud obnoxious people. Thereās also a lack of drinks. First time there were no coke icees available and the second time, they ran out of the soda coke too. Managers donāt care if your movie going experience was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame back again 4/6/23 Was very disappointed ā¹ļøšā¹ļø.. I had to take back my 5 star review and give a 3 star. Came to see Mario's Bros with my boys and we made it just in time however we wanted to order snacks. I tell you the wait was so so so long we missed the preview and the first part of the movieš š .
I think the new way of ordering from the Kia's or whatever you call them and having to wait for your order is the worst move AMC Norwalk has done. It takes 10 times longer than it did before.
Also....I think it's time to upgrade that IMAX auditorium. Yes you can seat more people but NO ONE wants to go old school with the old seats. We didn't enjoy the movie, we were squished. And with COVID it should definitely be UPGRADED. When I ordered the tickets I thought I was getting the new recliner seats.... Because that's what it said... Recliner seatingš¤·š¤·š¤·š¤·. Hello.. So disappointed... Concessions need to go back to an actual person filling your orders or at least make that one option. That's my suggestion. Maaaaybee I'll go back another time, just to see if they're listening to the reviews. First time here ...... Pretty clean theater, everyone is helpful and friendly. I do not like ordering from kiosk. I prefer ordering from an actual person. I do have to admit there isn't a huge wait to order, only to receive your order. There have been times where I had to wait awhile before they called my order. Besides that great theater. Ps.. the recliners are pretty spacious, just in case you were worried about extra space and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou know, this theater really used to suck.
I'd been away from Norwalk about 7 years from 2018 - 2025, and I remember the AMC by my parents' house in Norwalk being a super dirty place with screaming kids (and disassociating teenagers contending with angry cholas) all the way up to 2018.
I don't know if this place is under new management or what, but I went ahead and got myself an A-List membership this last May. I was going to be around for the summer anyway, so why not spend most of it in an air conditioned room watching some human creativity dancing across vinyl? I decided to give the nearby AMC one more shot.
Expecting to walk into a place that smelled like burnt popcorn and parental desperation, I was surprised to find a gently bustling (and clean!) lobby with amiable workers up front scanning phones. These kids work, man, and I hope they're paying them well. Did I mention it's clean? For real, I've probably walked here for about 30 movies so far, and there's never been a time I haven't seen somebody sweeping, taking out the trash, or doing bathroom maintenance. They sure act like they're paid well. Good job, you guys.
I've never had to ask any of them for "help," but if I ever pick up an order from the front counter or interact with the staff, they're always friendly and glad to help. I wish AMC let you tip em. Even the security guards are chill. Management, whatever you're doing, keep doing it. Treat your employees right and they'll keep treating this theater right. Love this location!
