I was very excited to come into the store earlier today. Unfortunately, once I arrived at the store, my excitement quickly disappeared as I was falsely accused of already coming to the store and publicly shamed by one of the employees. When attempting to purchase a signed CD, I was told I already was in the store today, even though I had not been. Typically, when someone accuses someone of something, they have proof, or in the very least, are willing to provide evidence of their claim. The employee claimed that I came into the store earlier and bought a CD with a credit card. Since it was a signed CD, the store had a policy of one per person, which is perfectly understandable and reasonable — except I was not even allowed to purchase the one CD because, as mentioned, I was wrongly accused of already coming in and buying one. In defense of myself and the inaccurate claim being made against me, I offered to show the employee my credit card statement online and my transaction log to show that I had not purchased anything at the store today. In an attempt to disprove this false claim, I did show a store employee my transaction log. Of course, there was no record of me purchasing anything at the store because I was not there prior to this experience. Additionally, I offered to show my driver’s license as a way to confirm my name and show that my name did not match any name on the store’s transaction log. Yet, this was still not enough evidence. So I kindly asked the employees if they would review security camera footage and show me evidence that I was in the store already today. This request was also denied. Then, after I asked what proof I can provide to show that I was not in the store today, another employee then attempted to shame me for wanting the CD at all, saying “dude, it’s OK, it’s a Taylor Swift CD, you don’t need it.” I suppose it’s not OK for me to be a fan and supporter of Taylor Swift based on this statement. It’s disappointing to see a store that my family and I have been longtime fans of treat me like this. It’s my hope this situation could be rectified but based on the way I was treated today, I’d expect my message will be ignored, just as my defense of myself in the store this afternoon was. I would highly recommend not taking your business here, and instead taking it somewhere where you will not have your integrity questioned, be degraded, and be laughed at by employees. Perhaps the most disappointing thing is that I just no longer feel comfortable taking my business to a store I’ve greatly enjoyed for a decade-plus. Incredibly disappointed with my...
Read moreThe Rolling Stones is a great store for people like me that still listen to modern music on CDs and vinyls. The employees are very helpful, and know exactly where each and every artist is.
The prices you find in the store are the prices you would find online, but with a coupon you can find in the free store provided magazines, your trip to the Rolling Stones is more than worth it.
I do recommend that if you are new to the Rolling Stones store, you may want to ask where your favorite artist is before browsing, because I came into the store the other day looking for Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull CDs. The Pitbull CD I found was where it should be, in the rap section, but I found Enrique Iglesias in the Rock section, but Enrique Iglesias is moreso a Latin singer than a Rock singer. However, the product-knowledgeable employee that was there took me right to the Enrique Iglesias CD selection, which is all that matters in the end.
In conclusion, the Rolling Stones is a timeless store that has more than just music. They carry everything from shirts to movies to headphones. Not to forget posters, some of which that are given out for free with any purchase. The next time you are looking for anything mentioned above, stop by the Rolling Stones, and if they don't have what you're looking for, they can order any CD or vinyl that is currently...
Read moreI was Christmas shopping for vinyl for my son but they didn't have what I was looking for (surprisingly limited selection) but I made some guesses about what he might like. I mentioned to the clerk that it was a gift and asked about the return policy. I said that I assumed that if it was unopened and he had the receipt, it would be returnable. She added that it had to be within 30 days and offered me the half sheet return policy (in 10-point type), which I took. She neglected to add that you can only receive a merchandise credit--not a credit back to your charge card, which I was astounded to find out when I read the policy at home. I haven't seen this policy in any stores in many, many years. I guess I should have spent the 5 minutes in the store at the checkout counter to read the lengthy return policy before I made $100+ purchase. If these are albums he already has or doesn't like, I've wasted my money since he doesn't buy CDs and there was such a limited selection of vinyl. I should have shopped on line, where you can always return it but I'm trying to do my part to keep brick and mortar businesses alive. I'm just hoping that my son likes the ones I chose.
I noticed that the owner has responded to other comments. I wonder if he'll respond...
