Pa`u Tattoo — Attraction in Oʻahu

Unfortunately I would not recommend to go here for piercings. I went in for a conch piercing while on vacation. The jewelry used was not the correct kind for this piercing (pierced with a 16g curved barbell). My piercing looked like it was migrating within two days of receiving it from the pressure of the piercing tugging down. The piercer (Ryan) said this was an appropriate ring for this area. He also told me I could go swimming in the ocean a day later and did not provide any sort of aftercare instruction. 7 days later my piercing is hot red swollen and infected. I had to go on oral antibiotics and get the jewelry switched out at another piercing studio back home whom I have received piercings with before. When it was pierced there was a lot of blood which I have now learned should not have been the case . I’ve never had a cartilage bleed like that when receiving a piercing and I also see many videos online of people getting them done where there is no blood. It makes me think the technique was improper. Lastly, the location is which my piercing is is not anatomically correct for a conch piercing and the piercer back home said that since it was pierced through such a thick section of my cartilage, it will take a long time to heal if it ever does. I don’t think Ryan was as experienced with this piercing as he claimed to be and I truly wish he had been more upfront with me on his ability so I could make an informed decision on if I wanted this at the time. I wish I had just gone to the studio I know looking back. Hopefully my infection clears up and I don’t have to lose the piercing completely so it won’t all be for nothing but only time will tell....

My Husband and I were in Oahu celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and the honeymoon we never had! To commemorate our trip, we wanted to get Polynesian turtles as they signify longevity, family, protection. My husband had never had a tattoo before and was a bit apprehensive. We contacted Pa u tattoo and JP asked us what we were looking for and said he’d sketch some options for us. When we arrived JP had some great options for us to choose from. As he tattooed his art on us, each piece awoken and the end results were more than we could have hoped for. My husband and I are so happy with our art pieces and my husband’s first tattoo experience was exceptional. JP is a very talented tattoo artist and great guy, we are already planning on adding to our tattoos on our next trip back with JP!

The staff here are really great guys, however I was disappointed. I was scheduled with one artist and he double booked appointments and pawned me off to another artist. The artist did good work but not exactly what I was hoping for. My wife was supposed to get a tattoo as well and was asked to wait half an hour so the artist could take a break from her last client. No big deal we went to get something to munch on but when we returned all the artists were in a car smoking marijuana. I am corrections officer trained in detecting weed. We could clearly smell it when they opened the door. Needless to say she did not get one. I don't think I could ethically recommend going here. They are good tattoo artists but lack in professionalism. Also it is cash only with a...
