The mall is made up of two buildings called Uptown and Downtown. You can take a short walk, drive or take the monorail to and from each side. They're clean, cool and mall security is always there when you need them. There's a tiny rest stop place for police at the downtown location next to Fun Factory so that along with the mall security always makes you feel safe. All the stores are clean and I love the new bathrooms in Uptown by the Lift(kinda like a Mini Fun Factory) gaming room. Here they have affordable stores unlike Ala Moana mall with its crowds of tourists and upscale shops (even their McDonald's charges an extra buck more for stuff). Ample parking everywhere. I noticed some seem to not notice the many parking structures around the mall and instead of parking there they keep circling the open parking during busy holiday times. Free EV charging. PearlRidge has shops like Jeans Warehouse, Charlotte Reuse, Forever 21, Papaya, Sears, Hot Topic, Ross, Payless, American Eagle, Children's Place, TJ Max, Sears, Macy's, Victoria's Secrets, Razor, Champs, Lids, Footlocker, Ladies Footlocker, Children's Footlocker, Foot Action, Journey, Animation Magic, Icing, kids' Icing, Longs, Hallmark, a fishing shop, Longs Drugstore, etc etc and lots of different food places like Mexican, Korean, Chinese, reg American food, Italian(if you can call Sbarros Italian), Japanese, etc They've got kiosks for various things like that eyebrow thing girls do nowadays where it looks like torture(I mean a lady flossing your eyebrows and forehead looks kinda painful to me but that's none of my business), a kiosk for hair products, car detailing stuff and miniature toy/collection cars, nail stuff, massage, sunglasses, snacks, etc Also lots of hair salons and a barber shop, a satellite city, jewelry stores, a Hickam Federal Credit Union bank, places to take your kids like Fun Factory, Tilt and a place where they have a bunch of bouncy houses where adults go to wear their kids out for a nap time. Yeah this mall is great. Would be 5 stars, but the movie theater seating, uptown food court seating and bathroom and all downtown bathrooms need remodeling and renovations. Seriously, those are the only things keeping this mall from a 5 star rating. The mall bathrooms aren't bad or anything. They're clean but small and dated. If you have to go, make sure you go to the new bathrooms in the Uptown side. As for the theater, the staff is excellent, very helpful, everything is clean and their bathrooms are nice and big and clean too, BUT the place is in terrible need of renovations when it comes to the screen rooms. Like oh me gee, the seats need to be replaced because those old dirty bastards are filthy as sin. I feel like either I'm going to catch bedbugs, a staph infection, an STD from sitting in them or die from some yet-to-be discovered disease. And it doesn't matter what aisle you choose, when your shoes leave the walkway carpet make sure your shoes are on tight or the floor monster will suck them off your feet. It's is so sticky, your feet will make a thwerp thwerp sound when you try to inconspicuously scoot to your seat. Fudge that. Other than that, this...
Read moreI went there--as a visitor to the Island--back in September of 2017, and it had all the stuff that I loved about shopping malls.
It reminded me of the shopping malls in their glory days of the 80's and 90's--all the storefronts were open, there was an arcade, and "normal" shops such as Sears and Maceys, rather than un-affordable tourist trap shops you find elsewhere in Honolulu; and you could see that all of the businesses were doing well.
The store and walkways were all clean and tidy, with plenty of room to walk. And the air conditioning was a godsend, as the week I was there the temps were around 100, record breaking heat.
I loved the coin-op massage chairs in the central thoroughfare. I wanted to just sit there all day! My traveling companions had other plans. I loved the food court--something for everyone--and the food was reasonably priced. I could tell that this was a place where locals went to eat, and to shop, for that matter.
Finally, shout out to the See's Candy and their generous sample and delicious chocolates. And another shout out to Pearl's Korean BBQ; I ordered chicken and it was such a generous helping, I had enough left over for a whole other meal for dinner...
Read moreIm very upset with my experience here. I'm not mad at the mall but I'm mad at the business that is being run here. It's a skincare shop that always has a person asking if you want a sample. I was approached by a man and he asked if I wanted a sample. I received the sample, he then becomes extremely rude and decided to say that I have horrible skin and what products do I use. He asks me my age and says I need help with my skin. I was extremely pissed because how dare he comment that I have horrible skin and then I was about to walk away and then he says you're just going to take the sample. I am so upset the way this man disrespected me. He was ridiculing me. I do have sensitive skin but for him to clearly belittle me and insult me with my skin is unacceptable. I walked away and left because I was very upset. I would never treat anyone let alone a customer with the utmost disrespect. I would like to report this store. The products they sell is TRUFFOIRE. Do not interact with any of the employees. The man that disrespected me was tall, slim, and Caucasian. I'm very upset and I hope this place closes down for the disrespect and rudeness...
