I'm not a bread person but these Brug rolls are my utter favorites. I can't resist them! Since customers are physically distancing, it does take awhile to get through the line, especially if you don't know exactly what you'd like. Each item is packaged in it's own little plastic envelope. They have sanitizer to use when you first walk in. Grab a tongs, paper tray liner, and plastic tray and start choosing your items. The workers there are helpful & the girl who rang me up today was really friendly. They have both savory and sweet items. I only eat the savory and Kitaguni Focaccia is my #1 favorite!
4/25/2021 - My pal brought over some sweet pastries since she knows I love Brug. It was my first time trying the sweet pastries. She brought Koshi Anpan, Mochi Donut, Okinawan Potato Mochi, and some sort of cinnamon roll (I couldn't find the name on their menu). All delicious! My faves were the Koshi Anpan that were soft & stuffed with red bean paste and the mochi items, which were so chewy and good.
12/1/2021 Walked in for my fave, Kitaguni but booo, they were out of it. So instead I got a pastrami and cheese focaccia, tomato pesto and mozzarella focaccia, a spinach and ham roll, & a teriyaki chicken roll. I gave the two focaccias to my husband who loved them and he's not a bread person. The spinach and ham roll and the teriyaki chicken roll were all mine! They were both so delicious! I like that the teriyaki chicken roll included creamy mayonnaise...
Read moreYumminess!!!! I see this type of bakery all over the place, but I never really tried them out (mostly for dietary reasons). I’m glad I decided to stop into this little joint!
They are located at one of those side entrances of Pearlridge Downtown (that’s the one with Ross). It’s the entrance that has Joes or Moes or something that is Mexican/Chipotle style. Everything that we bought was delicious. We got a few savory types: turkey pot pie, kalua pork curry pan, and a ham and potato roll. We also tried quite a few of the sweet ones: custard filled and chocolate filled. Everything was great! My favorites were the custard filled and the kalua pork curry.
The only thing I did not like was the customer service. The cashier looked miserable. She did not smile at all. I asked her a question about one of their products and all she said was “I dunno” and then started at me blankly. When I finished paying I told her that I hope that she had a better day and whatever it was would soon pass and get better. Still no reaction. I know sometimes we all have a bad day, but as a cashier, being that happy friendly front line person is what you are paid for (I know, as I did it for MANY years). It’s really a reflection and the last impression of your interaction with that business. So unfortunately I had to take some stars off because of it.
So the food was good, and I would return to try them again. I just hope that the customer service...
Read moreWe love coming here and always end up buying a lot of treats from them.
The people are always friendly here and the pastries are delicious! They sell sweet and savory items as well as drinks. You can have them anytime of the day and not just as a snack.
We love the veggie focaccia, the ham and cheese, several with red bean paste or custard cream, sausage rolls, the chicken teriyaki, mochi donuts, and the tuna bomb. Each day they put out different stuff and sometimes they have the cute animal shaped pastries filled with chocolate or custard.
Prices are reasonable, ranging from $3-6 for pastries. Their drinks and loaves of bread vary as well but are also reasonable.
You're gonna want to come to their shop before noon though because by then they usually run out of most of their sweet/savory items and have only loaves of bread left.
All in all, a great place to grab a...
