Would you believe me if I told you the set on the left was only about $17?? IN THIS ECONOMY?! Not in the picture, but we also ordered a dry noodle dish. So 2 noodle dish, and 2 appetizers (shrimp dumpling and fried tofu) For 4 things total, it was only about $58 without tip. That's CRAZY GOOD VALUE! The dumplings were so good. They have other dim sum options before 2pm, but we made it late and that's some of what they had left. The fried tofu at first doesnt look like much, but it's seasoned great and has this crispy salty veg that surprised me. The noodle dishes were decent, and again for $17, you cant go wrong. They had other non-spicy broth options, you could choose a more salty and savory broth, but I chose spicy. For context, I'm a spicy girly. I love eating Buldak noodles on the daily, and I told the waitress this, but she still asked if I wanted "half spicy" because it can be overwhelming at full heat. I figured, may as well trust her since she works here, and I'm glad I did. The spicy broth is a combination of regular and numbing spice that is common in China. It was also quite flavorful, and the meat that came with the set that you put in the broth was quite tender. My husband got the "dry noodle" which reminded me of the Korean cold noodles (guksu?) It was pretty decent. There was a large menu of dessert options and boba drinks. We did not try these, but for the amazing prices, I think we will definitely return to try those and more dim sum options another time. Service was okay. Location is on the 2nd floor of Pearlridge Uptown next to the shabu shabu place, near...
Read moreUpdate: stopped by to check out its new menu of dim sum items. It’s very odd to see Cantonese dim sums at a Yunan noodle shop. The two provinces are over a thousand kilometers apart. As it turned out, the dim sums were actually very good, though quite pricy for the amount of food you get when compared with dim sum places in Chinatown. I guess this is the only game in the town of Aiea. The fried leek and shrimp dumplings had very fresh ingredients and they were very good. We also got the ube bubble waffle , another Cantonese restaurant favorite, was very good as well; however it’s not really ube waffle. Instead it was just regular egg waffle cake with a small sprinkle of ube dust and I was expecting the waffle made from ube flour. No such luck!!!
Located upstairs of Pearl Ridge Center Mall. We decided to eat here when we saw it while shopping since we haven’t had Yunnan Rice Noodles for many years. This is a more modern version of Yunnan’s stable with a very nice presentation and an easy way to order your options. We both got the bone base soup with fatty beef. The flavoring wasn’t overpowering and it was quite tasty. With 8 or 9 small dishes of ingredients all mixed together with the soup and the rice noodles, it was delightful. We also ordered the deep fried dumplings, which were okay, but not that good and tasted like grilled instead of deep fried. So I would not recommend getting the dumplings. The service was excellent and friendly. If you never have had yin a rice noodles, then you should stop by this place to...
Read moreThis was our very first time eating at this restaurant and I love to say that my family enjoyed the experience here!
We got seated quickly during lunch hour by our amazing host, Allen, who is a kind of person who really wants to have a good satisfactory rate with customer service within the restaurant. He gave us recommendations on what to try for ourselves and the kids! Some of the items that he recommended that we decided to try were their signature pork bone broth with sliced beef, the all new dim sum menu, and the souffle pancakes.
The broth set literally came out in 10 seconds, well maybe less than a minute haha!-but that quality of speed in a busy restaurant is unbelievable! One broth can be easily split among 2-3 people, and for its price with the several ingredients they provide on the side, its actually quite filling. As for the dim sum menu, I really enjoyed their pork hash and chicken feet. Great fix if you're craving a dim sum cuisine and not wanting to go drive to Chinatown, as this place is better in my opinion. As for the chocolate chip Oreo souffle pancakes, they were a good dessert and not to heavy after the main courses.
Overall, I am satisfied with this restaurant and I will be returning back with my family whenever I need to get my noodle and dim sum fix here...
