I want to give Genki a high review because they've been pretty much a sushi staple on the island if you're craving some fast, cheap, tasty sushi. They need to figure out what they're doing with the staff though, we almost got ripped off by our server when my group went.
The food was SO good! The fish was super fresh, the fried stuff was nice and hot, and the drinks (whenever we had refills) were ice cold and crisp! Some of the fried foods did happen to take a little long, but the kitchen looks insanely small from the little windows, so I get it. The plating could be a little bit better too since everything usually shows up on a white plate.
The service kinda sucked. We only got one refill during our entire experience here, and our server was usually nowhere to be found. He checked on us when it was time to pay and then took the gift card we used with him on his break, making sure to give us the full bill back before he left. We had a pack of three servers and a manager come up to our table asking us what we needed and if we wanted more refills, it was kind of a scary experience.
Eventually, after they left us alone without explaining the situation, another server took over the section and was able to assist us and figure everything out. His name was Elijah and he personally gets a 5/5 for service, everyone else (including that manager) needs to learn how to...
Read moreWe have been to this locations a few times and normally things are okay but the service this time was really bad. Dining there with our 3 year old nephew and one of the servers dropped off a shave ice and placed it in front of him. We were confused as we didn't order it. The server came back and took it to the table it belonged to and said sorry this belongs to another table. We were sort of ok with it until we saw his face. Hey, he's 3 years old. I was more shocked that the server actually placed it with the table that ordered it without checking to see if he ate any. I work in the food service industry and you don't do that obviously for sanitary purposes but the server thought nothing of it. The people at the table that ordered it were confused as they saw the whole event unfold. Also, the food took longer than normal to come out and we had to flag down our server many times. Pressed the service button to ask for more water but had to flag down a server to ask instead as they took too long to stop by. We even had to wait a while for the check as the servers working were too involved in talking with each other. The service was really off this time and we will probably not visit this location anytime in the...
Read moreStill had the belt experience. Didn't over order. Old habits die hard. Went with son and his family. Initial order was big... Didn't want to have to wait till next order but then I looked over and the belt was still running. Too late, I already had placed my 8 plates of order. Still grazed off the belt while waiting on my order. Almost just perfect. Got down to my last plate of ordered and last of the ones I pulled off the belt. This loçation appears to be the busiest of all locations. But I think the turnover is a little slower because of the people dining and resting. Not worried about sushi being on the belt a long time Cause people were always eating. Also luck of the draw when you see what you want, but gotta wait for it to come to you before someone else grabs it. Then of course you can always order and watch it pass you on the belt after you placed your order. There is no cancel button, so you let it pass and wait...
