Used to love the place. Have bought a lot of cool material there. Their pricing strategy has changed sending costs much higher, often unrealistically so, especially on appliances and fixtures. Many prices seem to be calculated far too much in relation to new retail cost without much consideration for age & condition plus the time it takes for a customer to hunt for what they want there and adapt an often dated, damaged or custom designed item to their project. I still buy material there but my purchases are way down. Lumber is still reasonable and sometimes cabinets. They used to mark things down after they sat on the floor for a while but not so much any more.
I am all for them making money however I believe their cash flow would improve if they would come a little more...
Read moreAWESOME PLACE! GREAT CONCEPT! Location could be tricky to find best landmark would be behind the John A Burns School of Medical! If your a "DIY PERSON" this is like a candy store! Been here several times a for different projects such as I'm making a small coffee station in my kitchen and so I was looking for furniture feet or legs for my plastic drawer that I'm converting and I found something for less than $5.00 and they had a sale on quality particle board for $3.00 so I was a "HAPPY DIY'R" with my TREASURES I found for under $10.00. it's in a open warehouse with all kinds of items from homes that were donated for demolition. I suggest to bring gloves if you like to dig so you won't get to dirty! Staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend to visit if you like to find...
Read moreBeen there multiple times. I even have an "account" with them - nothing fancy, just a phone number reference. As an owner/repairer/renovator of a 1950's home, this business has been invaluable. Recently did a kitchen demo/renovation, using reclaimed materials. Combining this place with the conventional cabinets from a nearby supplier - gave a customized look at the fraction of what we could have $pent. Be forewarned though - always go there with good gloves and a tape measure. Sorting though the rough stock and moving heavy(ish) stuff will require protection. They do have tape measures and a bathroom available. You will also need to be creative with what you can load and bring home. I've done pickups on a motorcycle as well as a minivan. Good hunting...
