I visited this store two months ago. While I was looking around, the shop owner, after noticing the acne on my face, approached me in a very friendly and kind manner and recommended a soap. He told me it would help a lot to heal my problem. I bought the soap, but I didn’t believe it would work at all. After years of medical appointments and trying every product on the market, I thought it would be yet another failure. Instead, this soap completely saved my face. I’ve improved so much, and it’s all thanks to him. Unfortunately, I don’t live in Hawaii; I live in Australia. But I need to have this product in my hands again since I’m almost out of it. If you can help me to have it again, I would be very grateful.

My family and I routinely buy the high quality, hand made soaps produced at The Soap Cellar. The owner Mark has been doing this for 17 years and he's not only a very helpful, nice person he's also a wealth of information on inflammatory and other skin conditions and what ingredients, remedies he has that helps relieve different ailments. He will take the time to answer questions and help you find the right product. He has a pain remedy that I use to ease my migraine headaches and its been very helpful. From candles to pumice, jewelry and fantastic soaps, yes even manly ones, he's got something for everyone.

Met Mark+another guy in shop. Super nice, very friendly. Talked a lot about holistic and cultural ways of exploring Hawaii. Bought soap on first run, it apparently helps with acne; yet to try. Went back for lip balm, feels very smooth. Great guys.

I went to Hawaii with my family for vacation. We needed a rental car and ended up getting a Tesla. We pulled up to the poke place next door to eat and didn’t see any parking. Since it was late in the evening and we noticed the business next door seemed to be closed for the day, I decided to park in front of that business in a normal parking spot, just like you would park in any parking spot. Cue the screaming, rude lady who came out of the business, yelling in a rude manner that we had parked too close to her little blue truck and going off on us. (We didn't park too close just normally parked like you would in any spot.) She told us to move our car repeatedly and was gesturing to it in a funny manner. Eventually, I told the lady to "say less" after she went off on us for a while. During this exchange started to realize this wasn't just about us parking "too close" to her car. After our family had exited the rental car, I moved the car behind the poke building where there was more parking. While I was driving away, she was still talking about our car and how we needed to move it and that "why did we have to park next to her car". Then she said, “Heil Tesla,” and gestured with her arm and hand in a Nazi salute manner. I don’t know what her problem was with us. LOL, no need to get all political on us just because you hate Elon; it was just a rental, lady! LOL. Being extremely hateful to us for no good reason wasn’t cool or nice. Not very aloha. Anyway, I know here comes the reply from the lady trying to validate the way she acted toward us, but there really was no reason to act like that. I always go out of my way to be respectful anywhere I go. I wish the best to her and for her to be less rude to random people she just meets, But the 1 star must happen. When you’re throwing up Nazi salutes to people because of the rental car they’re driving, I think you’ve...

Readers, I encourage you to read to the end... My kids and I visited this business on Dec. 22nd. My initial comment upon entering the store was on how great it smelled inside and I was quickly told by the owner/clerk that she made all the scents herself. My daughter then noticed a selection of incense and we were told "They're on sale, 12 for $2.00". We decided on 4 different scents, 3 of each, totaling 12. It was then that the woman's tone completely changed. Apparently, I was "confused" and she didn't like to "waste her time" wrapping the incense in tissue paper for such small amounts. Her attitude and tone were so rude, I told her that we would be taking our business elsewhere. She replied with disdain, "Mele Kalikimaka!" Then a moment later as we're walking up the street, we hear someone yelling behind us. We turn to see this woman running, full speed, eyes hysterical, accusing my daughter of stealing a bracelet from her!! She's panting, saying my daughter had the bracelet in her hand, just looking like a crazy woman. I was disgusted by her behavior. My daughter looked like a deer caught in headlights!! Of course, my daughter didn't have the bracelet. I've lived on Oahu for over 16 years, been to Haleiwa countless times, and this is not the way we treat eachother here. I don't know if she was just having a bad day or if this common behavior, but this was unwarranted and unacceptable! This is literally the only time I have ever left a review. I don't take this lightly. Beware of this woman ladies...

If you go through these reviews even from YEARS ago all the negative ones are about her. That’s a huge red flag. I stand by my review. A simple sign could remedy this whole situation, but instead she resorts to yelling at people which tracks with all the reviews about her. Hopefully this review can be the tipping point and guide you back to treating people with kindness. You need to find the aloha spirit again for kama’aina and tourists. The soap is great, but I’ll find another place with more a more gracious staff

I was a regular customer driving about hour from town to support this business, but we just went on Saturday and parked in a MARKED SPOT in front of the building and a lady came storming out with a really nasty, negative attitude and talked to us like we were stupid for parking there because she thought it was blocking a drive way - which it was not. There was plenty of space for cars to go through as we made sure because we aren’t those type of selfish people. If that isn’t a parking spot there needs to be cone or signs saying otherwise because our car fit there just fine.

After her inappropriate lashing we decided leave and not to go inside or give them our business anymore because of her. There’s a way to treat people and that’s not it. She needs customer service training and to learn to speak to people with kindness as you never know what people are going through. She lost them a loyal customer and I will no longer be sending people their way like I have the...
