Nestled in a convenient spot for those coming off the beach, this restaurant is a must-visit for a satisfying lunch after a morning of sun and surf. It's perfectly situated to be a go-to spot for anyone looking for a great poke bowl.
Service
Arriving at 3 p.m., I found the restaurant pleasantly uncrowded. The dine-in service was a welcome change, allowing for a relaxing break to enjoy the meal without feeling rushed. The staff was friendly and the service was efficient. The menu offers a large variety of dishes, including breakfast options and burgers, which is a nice bonus. The poke bowl service is customizable, allowing you to choose one or two protein options, two sides, and two toppings. A unique aspect is the cold bar area—the raw fish isn't visible, but photos of each poke option are displayed, which is different but works well.
Food Quality
I was impressed by the presentation and flavors of my poke bowl. I chose two options: the limu inamona ahi and a spicy shrimp. The ahi poke, with its roasted kukui nut (a local Hawaiian product) and seaweed, was incredibly fresh and had a wonderful balance of melt-in-your-mouth tuna with a tangy, nutty flavor. Spot alert order The spicy shrimp was creamy and had a satisfying crunch from the masago, with the shrimp being a nice, large size. The side dishes were excellent—I got edamame and sweet potato nice two sides which provided a great balance of flavors and textures, garnished with fried garlic and furikake for extra crunch.
Overall Experience
This was an incredibly delicious and satisfying lunch. The price point of $21 per person (without a drink) felt very reasonable given the generous portions and high quality of the food. My two poke choices paired perfectly together, and the signature spicy shrimp and sweet potato side stood out as exceptional. This spot is a great find for anyone looking for a fresh, flavorful, and filling meal on the...
Read moreI visited Poke For The People on Oahu’s North Shore a few days ago, and it turned out to be one of the best food stops of my trip. From the start, the service stood out. The staff member behind the counter was not only friendly and approachable, but also very helpful in guiding me through the ordering process. As someone unfamiliar with the different poke options, I appreciated her patience and recommendations.
The food was outstanding. My wife and I initially ordered one bowl to share, but it was so good that we immediately went back and ordered a second. Each ingredient was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, making every bite memorable. The quality of the poke elevated the experience, while the casual, welcoming atmosphere reflected the relaxed North Shore vibe.

Read morePoke for the People was a delicious and fresh Poke spot located in the North shore of Oahu. My friend and I went for lunch on a weekday, and it was busy but the line moved fast. I was happy to see there were plenty of gluten free options. I have Celiac, and the staff were careful to avoid cross contamination and make sure my food was safe!
I got the blue marlin poke (flavored with a creamy roasted garlic and sesame sauce). The fish was fresh and flavorful. The toppings were good too! I especially liked the purple sweet potato mash. The ratio of fish, toppings, and rice was well-balanced.
Steps away from many cute boutiques and surf shops, Poke for the People is a good choice for lunch after an afternoon of shopping and exploring the nearby Banzai Pipeline.
Note: There is indoor and outdoor seating. Street parking is limited- my friend and I parked at a shopping center 5 minutes away and walked to...
