Tucked right in the heart of Haleʻiwa town, Jax Wood Fired Pizza is the kind of ʻohana-owned spot that makes you feel like you just walked into your cousin’s backyard—warm welcome, friendly smiles, and food made with plenty aloha.

We were stoked to find this place—not just because of the incredible pizza, but because they’re one of the only local spots on the North Shore offering a gluten-free cauliflower crust option! We ordered four pizzas (yes, four 😋), including one with the GF crust, and every single one came out hot, fresh, and loaded with flavor.

You can taste the care in each bite—made to order, perfectly crisp from the wood fire, with toppings that were fresh and thoughtfully layered. That wood-fired touch? Takes these pies to a whole new level—no joke, it puts Jax head and shoulders above the rest.

But what really made this spot special was the service. The crew treated us like family from the moment we walked up. Super kind, helpful, and full of aloha. It’s rare to find a place where you feel this taken care of.

If you are thinking about trying out Jax, stop thinking and just go. They were very friendly and the service was super fast. We arrived around 7pm on a Friday night and someone was ordering when we walked in. There were also a couple of tables waiting for their food spreads so I expected at least a 30 minute wait, but it was maybe 10 or 15 at the very most. We ordered 2 pizzas and the goat cheese honey bread sticks (sounds questionable but they are amazing!!). My pizza came out before the bread sticks which I thought odd, but wasn’t a big deal because it all came out within minutes of each other. The ingredients are fresh and definitely taste like high quality ingredients; particularly the cheese. These pizzas definitely rivaled any pizza we had while in Europe and Italy. The only reason for 1 star removed is because they are a little pricey. But it’s completely on par with most Hawaii pricing. We didn’t try the cannoli, but only because we said we will order it next time we will go. So even though it’s pricey, we will absolutely go back! Wanted to add after telling husband I was leaving a review- he said that the customer service is the best we’ve seen in the island. The gentlemen helping us seemed truly happy to have us visit. They truly seemed like some of the most genuine people...

My friend and I stopped by today to try the calzone, however, ended up trying to gyro instead. First of all - food was DELICIOUS. The dough was PERFECT, and lots and lots of meat. Honestly best gyro I had on the island. Also took calzone to-go and the meat was very generous. We have to try the pizza next time. Food is 10/10, served hot, tasted delicious.

I also wanted to leave a review for the team. Everyone was so nice. Front desk cashier was so sweet explaining the menu to us and making sure we’re well taken care of. The manager of the establishment (or one of the leads) was SO KIND!!! I honestly think there needs to be a separate review for the kindness of the staff. Especially the manager, she was so sweet checking on us and making sure we are satisfied.
