You can find a lot better and friendlier locations. This experience has made me think twice on where I choose to spend my money. Being friendly, respectful and caring of customers can go a long way. Went to Sephora this past weekend with some friends and had a very unpleasant experience. Never have I felt so uncomfortable - felt like the employees were watching my friends and I the whole time we were there. As a long time customer of Sephora and someone who came with the intention to purchase multiple items, I was very appalled by the behavior of the employees bc although they watch you like a hawk, they at the same time don’t even ask if you need help! This was my first time at this Sephora and I went in with such an excited and enthusiastic mindset, but I left feeling anxious and upset the whole night thinking what my friends and I did to make them think we were stealing. When an employee finally came to ask if I needed help, I wish I didn’t accept her offer bc she ended up fully ruining my already present eye makeup by putting concealer all over my eyelid and under eye (felt like a kid scribbling all over my face) followed by an eye cream afterwards. The makeup under my eye started to part and get blotchy and you could see streaks! As a Sephora employee, why would you ever put concealer and then eye cream over one another?! I was shocked to say the least and ended up having to fix my makeup myself w tester foundation and a nearby mirror. I’m not one to cause a scene nor am I one for confrontation so unfortunately I did not say anything. By the end of our visit, “coincidentally” a security guard made their way into the store and directly into my friends and I’s space where it was noticed by my friends that while I was near the perfume wall with my back turned, it looked as though the security guard was using his phone in a way that looked like he was videoing or taking pictures of me? And as we left, so did the security. Afterwards, my friends and I decided to look up this location and saw reviews stating the exact same thing we happened to experience! Read morei don’t know what i was going through today but this ladies attitude towards me made me completely crash out and she was my last straw. I called about 7:50 and said i just ordered something can i come pick it up now, she said yes if you can get here before 8, i said ok cool im on my way. i get there at 8:57 and im like im here to pick up and order and they’re like mm we dont see your order are you sure this is the right store. i show proof of that and they’re like yeah now you cant get it right now. i was like you just told me i could come i broke my back rushing here to get it as a gift. she misninformed and and said it was an accident. how upsetting. and to make me seem crazy tell me to cancel the other and buy it in store but wait days for 133 dollars. that’s insane i don’t just have that twice fr. she wasn’t helpful at all very mean. evidently it made me lash out excessively, she was a manager believe her name was abigail, she brought out such anger in me that i raised my voice in argument and she ignored me and told me done point your finger at me. When they went to pay for their items, her friend who is black was publicly, rudely and loudly accused by a security guard that she was stealing. My daughter, who is white and who had been shopping with her friend the whole time, was not accused. After publicly proving her innocence (by rolling up her sleeves and turning out her pockets), she was told she would be ARRESTED unless she left the store. The fact that she had to do this- is bad enough but when questioned about the incident by parents, the store management response to this incident was INADEQUATE AND INAPPROPRIATE. This incident left my daughter and her friends upset, disappointed and still questioning why it would happen to them. I am sad and angry that these wonderful teenagers had go through this experience when they just wanted to buy some products at a new store. My 4 daughters and I (the target audience) were excited about shopping at this brand new, local Oak Park store.
