Thanks, Jen and Lisa!
May 2, 2025 Update: Breakout Games asked me to give more specifics on my review. I emailed the following message to Breakout Games on April 18, the day we visited, and have still received no response. I have lowered the rating from 3 stars to 2 stars because of this.
Hi,
My friends, my son, and I had a party of five do two escape rooms at Breakout Games - Oklahoma City today. Unfortunately, there was a computer malfunction during our first session, The Runaway Train, at 10:15.
Once we gained access to the conductor section of the room we were following the directions to set the controls to the ideal settings. The first setting, “pressure”, did not respond to our attempts to adjust the number using the up and down arrow buttons. We were unable to move past this part of the scenario, and ultimately failed to escape.
After time ran out, we mentioned the malfunction to our host, Lisa. She said it happened often. We also mentioned the malfunction to Jen, the host of our next escape room. She, too, said that it was a common problem.
I’m disappointed that our group had no way to solve the Runaway Train escape room due to a known computer malfunction. This was our first visit to Breakout Games; we drove 40 minutes to the location, and spent $168.32 to play the scenario. I would appreciate either a refund of the money we spent on the first escape room, or a store credit for that amount.
Thank...
Read moreKind of surprised this place is so highly rated. Our scheduled game was broken upon arrival so we opted for another room, no refund or discount was offered. The game was challenging but many of the puzzles were redundant, there were more lock boxes, pad locks and keypads than I have ever had in a room. Several of the keypads codes were done by finding a few numbers nearby in no particular order, from what I could see there was no clue on which order to enter them, so several times it was just trying all combinations until it opened. One of the props was so worn that we had a hard time deciphering the code. Aside from that the room was dated and so were all the props, they also lacked theming, the room was bare and from what I can tell most rooms there are single rooms, no multiple rooms to access. For being in the same price point as most other escape rooms nearby, I don’t see the reason for the...
Read moreMy daughters (17 and 13) wanted to go to an escape room to celebrate my birthday. We have done one before at Breakout and we loved it so we came back and did a different room. Operation: Casino was so much fun. Our game master, Ryan, was awesome and gave clues that were not to telling but just enough to help direct. We are planning to make going to a new room a mother/daughter date night on a regular basis. If you have never been to an escape room or have never been to Breakout, we 10/10 recommend it to anyone. My girls and myself always have a blast and the stories lines are fun. We escaped this time. Can’t wait for our next visit. I think we decided...
