Worst Hotel Stay Ever – Bed Bugs, Filthy Rooms, and Zero Care
If I could give zero stars, I would. My family and I stayed here recently while visiting OKC for summer break, and this was hands-down the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had.
We should’ve trusted our gut and gone with an Airbnb again, because like so many others, we were completely fooled by the pictures online.
From the moment we walked in, it felt wrong. The lobby was empty, and even though the front door makes a loud alert when guests enter, no one showed up until my husband rang the bell. The front desk attendant finally appeared, looking like she had zero interest in helping us.
We got our key, went up to the room — and to our disgust, it was clearly not cleaned. The bed was messy, the bathroom filthy, and trash was still in the trash can. On the way back down, housekeeping even made eye contact like they knew the room wasn’t ready. When we told the front desk, the attendant casually said, “oh, sorry, I’ll get you another room.” No apology, no urgency, nothing.
The second room wasn’t much better. The moment we walked in it was sweltering hot. When we tried to cool it down, the AC unit sounded like a dying tractor — so loud it woke us up every time it kicked on. The toilet seat was loose, the tub literally felt like it was sinking into the floor, and we were only given two towels for a double queen suite.
But the real nightmare? Bed bugs. I woke up itching with bites all down my arms and legs. My very first time ever experiencing bed bugs, and I was horrified. We packed up, sprayed everything down with Lysol, and got out of there immediately.
This hotel is a complete disgrace to the IHG brand. Dirty, neglected, unsafe, and absolutely not worth a dime. I will be demanding a full refund and warning everyone I know: STAY FAR...
Read moreI’ve stayed at this hotel twice in the past two weeks, only because I had already booked in advance using non-refundable points. Let’s start with the good: the young lady working the night shift was absolutely wonderful—kind, helpful, and a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. Now for the rest.
First stay: My suite smelled like smoke, particularly in the bathroom, which was gross. The room itself was in desperate need of attention. The bathtub faucet leaked, and when I opened a drawer, I was greeted by someone else’s used tissues and earplugs. Lovely. I was offered some air freshener (thanks?) but told the staff I wasn’t moving rooms because, frankly, I was exhausted after a long day of driving and had already hauled my bags in. Not exactly the kind of welcome you expect.
Breakfast? Don’t even bother. Both stays, I ended up going out, buying something decent, and bringing it back. Calling the provided breakfast “underwhelming” would be generous.
Second stay: I was given a different room this time, and while it didn’t smell like smoke (progress!), it still left plenty to be desired. The bathtub is peeling, which is both unattractive and a safety hazard. The wall mirror is one good bump away from crashing down. Oh, and dog treats from the previous guest were left behind, as if that’s some kind of weird parting gift. The whole room felt neglected.
To top it all off, whoever labeled this hotel as “newly renovated” deserves an award for creative storytelling. Slapping some paint on the walls and calling it a day is not a renovation—it’s laziness.
In summary: unless major improvements are made, I won’t be staying here again, points or not. The kind staff deserve better working conditions, and guests deserve a clean, functional room at the...
Read moreThis place looked great online. The second we arrived, we received the absolute WORST customer service we have ever had. First, they told me I had no reservation. Then, they said they found it, but that they got confused and gave our suite to another customer on accident. They said that they had no more suites for us and that WE could contact the other person and ask for our room back!!! I said absolutely not and that they needed to fix it. I went to tell my husband what was happening and when I returned, a room had magically appeared. We got to the room and the door was open. It was clear that they had rushed to set it up. There were only 3 towels so we had to get more. I tried to call down to the front desk on multiple occasions, but the phone was broken. The TV in our room did not work. There were NO sheets, blankets or pillows for the fold out couch. I had to go downstairs to ask the front desk for some. The second I walked up to the front desk, the lady behind the counter rudely asked, “Oh, you need your blankets?” She went to get them and handed me sheets and a blanket. I asked if I could get pillows and she said, “you only asked for blankets and that’s what I gave you”. I had to ask her nicely to please get me some pillows!!! I was so frustrated I said out loud, this is unbelievable!!! She took FOREVER and brought me out ONE!!! I was so mad I just took it. I had also told her about the phone and TV, but surprise, she did not care.
DO NOT STAY HERE if you want kind, competent people helping you when you’ve had a long day of travel, especially with young kids and teenagers. We will never stay here again. I wish we could get our money back or get credit towards another IHG hotel. I can’t believe this location is even part of...
