I was shopping for business attire style shoes and was in the store for almost an hour. While I was in the shoe section the only time I got any service was when I was being helped by an older women. It is such a shame to say but it seemed like the younger girls just wanted to stand around gossiping to each other. Every time I asked one of them for help I got an irritated look and then reluctant service. Eventually they just left me alone to figure things out for myself. After several minutes I got up and asked a passing sales lady for help. She kindly paused in what she was doing and got me the shoes I wanted but disappeared so quickly after getting them that I had to wait awkwardly for her to reappear just to ask to get the next pair. It was obvious that she was very busy with something else, but with noone else being willing to help me I had to rely on her. While I was waiting for her to get back I was noticed by several other employees who smiled politely but otherwise didnt assist me at all. Some of them just ignored me completely. I noticed that all the older white women in the section were being helped continously and I just wish that I could have gotten the same quality of service. I'm glad that I (eventually) got the shoes that I was looking for. But I just felt too unwelcome at Macy's to return there for shoes or anything else ever again. Read moreNEVER will I shop at Macy's again. On June 17th I placed an order for a 64 piece set of Villeroy & Boch Flatware (Reg $600, OnSale $300) with an estimated ship date of June 19th. The total price with tax and s/h was $345.25. Today I was in Bed Bath & Beyond and ordered another set with the total price being $260.99 including tax and s/h. I called Macy's to see if they would price match my previous order to what I just purchased and they refused. The reprehensible service I received from the representative and the escalation team member would make Rowland Macy, Sr. roll over in his grave - which neither representative even knew who that was let alone speak english. Long story short, apparently Macy's counts the time the order is placed as the beginning of the 10 day price match, with today being the 30th, refused to price match due to it being greater than 10 days. So, I had them issue a Return Merchandise Authorization form, will return the Macy item and purchase another set from Bed Bath & Beyond who apparently wants and appreciates my business. Never again will I shop Macy's nor recommend anyone else do the same. No wonder the news agencies are reporting Macy's as struggling and closing stores - customer service is non-existent. To think they just lost a customer, who would easily spend hundred of dollars on flatware, over less than $90. Shop around before you shop here ... apparently you only have 10 days from the time you place the order to find and notify them of a better price for them to match it. LOL!!! Good...
Read moreI went to the “Finish Line” area of the store. I walked up to two young people just texting away. No, hi. No, can I help you get anything? After a few min I asked for a size. They didn’t have it so I asked to order it. The young male didn’t seem to want to do it so he asked his coworker. I had a $50 visa gift card. My plan was to split the payment. Multiple tries with no luck. They pulled over another associate. Her name was Fatima. Super friendly. Great customer service. Unfortunately in the end, the other two and then store manager ruined the rating. This associate couldn’t get it to work either. She called the store manager which named started with a “K”. She said if I buy one of their gift cards for the remainder, it would work. So I did. That store manager left and it still didn’t work. At no point was she ever sorry. I asked for the refund back on the gift card and again the store manager had to be called. Again, rude, and not even an apology. After about 30 minutes in the store, I left. I went to another store and used the same gift card with no problem. Sometimes computers fail, but at least have the courtesy to be kind and get off your phones...
