This 'park' is highly disappointing. Dank and desolate, the place consists of a dark brown river; some manicured trees and piles upon piles of litter, sandwiched between highways, a scrap yard and a construction site - which produced an overwhelming volume of road noise, gasoline and brick dust, respectively. What should be an enjoyable riverside walk becomes a depressing observation of the myriad Seven Eleven styrofoam cups about the place. Read moreToo bad the recent reviewer visited Regatta Park at a bad time. OKC had just experienced some very heavy rains which washed debris into the river and thus into the waters of this park. The city has or will clean up the mess and the park will be returned to it's natural beauty. It's a small park, but the waterfall and surrounding plantings are very nice. Regarding the litter, that is admittedly one of Oklahoma's worst faults. Even though the state has had campaign after campaign to get people to stop littering, it just never seems to take. Read moreGreat environment, it allows for MILES of walking and adventure, from the River Sports area, to the Land Run Monuments area, then the Bricktown area. It also tests your survival skills sometimes, avoiding a whole area of scorpions at night, fighting off hobos or get serenaded by them, truly a wonderful experience.
