I bought a ticket on 03/24/2024 at 10:08 pm, went to the theater and arrived at 10:28 with all the doors locked, I then proceeded to go in through an exit door and find a manager. She told me the “doors closed at 10:30” and refused to let me back to my movie. I said “ok, it’s 10:28” and proceeded to show her the time on my phone. She continued to refuse entry, and told me that their doors lock at 10:30. I continued to say “it’s not 10:30 yet, and all I need to do is go back to my movie”. Important to note I was not asking for concessions of any kind, simply asking to walk back to my designated theater with a ticket that had already been bought prior. She continued to refuse to let me back, and around that time 5 other people with tickets behind me came inside. She then walked away and said “you all are trespassing and I’m going to call the cops” I replied, “call them. Go ahead. We got here in time and you’re refusing to let us through” I also told her I’d had proof through the Life360 app of the time that I arrived, and it was before 10:30. I tried to show her the time it said I arrived and She then proceeded to come back to me and harass and intimidate me, telling me that I’d never step foot in another AMC again, and that I was “trespassing “ and reminded me she’d called the cops, to which I said “good. You can walk away, you’re not going to speak to me this way” She then would not leave me alone, so I started to video tape the entire interaction, and told her I was doing so, and at that time she walked away. As we waited for police to arrive, she could be heard shouting at me through the lobby and telling me over again that I’d never be allowed back at an AMC, to which I replied “oh trust me, I won’t be back”. I was never offered a refund, and never offered a number to call or anything to address my issues. Just told to leave and not ever come back.
When the police arrived, I was told that any buisness had the right to refuse service, which I knew prior and had no problem with. When I asked for a refund, she claimed she was unable to give me that and that I’d need to call corporate. I then was given a number to the corporate office, but when I called, I was unable to speak to a representative. So, I followed the instructions and reached out via Facebook messenger for a refund. I explained the situation and was told they had to reach out to the theater for more information. It’s now almost 03/28 and I haven’t heard a single thing, nor have I received a refund. The 30 minute time limit is not and was not advertised In the email when I bought my ticket, and even if I was I showed up before then.
The employees name is Lana. I have proof of everything, the time of my arrival via my phone, the employees name and picture, and witnesses that were there with me who saw and experienced the whole thing as well.
I have an idea that the only tickets sold for that movie were to the people that showed up with me, and Lana thought she was going to get to go home early and not stay for the 3 hour movie we PAID to see, since we all didn’t show up on time. So when we did show up, she...
Read moreWe visited AMC Theatres 28 on May 22 for the 6:26 p.m. Lilo & Stitch live-action fan event—and honestly, I wish we had gone somewhere else.
We arrived over an hour early to make the most of the event and were able to get the Stitch combo (popcorn, topper, and headband), which was one of the few positives. But the rest of the experience was disappointing.
There was no signage or direction on where to pick up the fan event bracelets, and staff didn’t seem to know either. When I tried to purchase the Stitch combo that was being promoted at the concession stand, I was told to go check out somewhere else—even though it was being displayed right in front of us. The whole process felt unorganized.
The most frustrating part was the interaction with a concession worker. A girl at the popcorn station was extremely rude when my husband politely asked for a fresh tub. She was already pre-filling large popcorns but said, “I’m too busy,” in a dismissive tone. When he calmly told her her response was unprofessional, she laughed at him. Completely unacceptable. He had to go find the shift manager himself near the registers, and thankfully she was kind and helped him directly. That level of service should’ve been there from the start.
We were also really disappointed to find that the exclusive Stitch sippers were sold out before our fan event showing even began. They were gone after the earlier 3:30 p.m. showtime, and some families walked out with multiple. There were no limits in place, which makes no sense for a “fan event.” It felt really unfair to those of us attending later showings.
Inside Auditorium 16, we were in seats H10–H12. Seat H11 was in terrible shape—sticky with spilled drink residue and peeling, cracked leather. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned. The recliners also don’t fully extend like they do at B&B Theatres, which we usually prefer for that reason alone.
We had also pre-ordered food. I got the chicken nachos, and they were barely edible—hardly any chicken, and overloaded with jalapeños. I wouldn’t order them again.
To top it off, this wasn’t an isolated issue. About a month ago, I had a nearly identical encounter with the same concession worker when I asked for a tray or a bag. She rudely told me to take whatever was left, which was just drink carriers. She clearly doesn’t belong in a customer-facing role.
We spent over $150 that evening, and honestly, it felt like a waste. Between the poor customer service, lack of event planning, and dirty theater conditions, we left frustrated and...
Read moreI have not been to an AMC theater in a very long time and this reminded me why. I enjoyed my time with my boyfriend and his family, but the thing that was awkward was his family purposely put us in a loveseat so that we could cuddle. Very heartwarming, I'm glad that they encourage that, however, we were unable to do so because of how the recline seats work. When the armrest was up, it did not bother us when the seats were not reclined, but of course we wanted them reclined so we can enjoy the movie. When we recline the seeds, that is when we found that the armrest is not go back far enough for it to be flushed with the rest of the seat, therefore, it was constantly stabbing me in the shoulder so all I could do is hold. His hand. Top Gun was fantastic, I loved the sound and how it rumpled throughout the theater. But the seats were such a bother that it was hard to really focus on the movie. Another thing is there were very few floor lights that lit where you were walking, I almost sat on another man if you would not have turned on his flashlight to show that he was sitting there. It was a very funny interaction, but embarrassing nonetheless. All of us started using the flashlights on our phones in order to light the way for older people who just genuinely could not see where they were going. The only floor lights were on the stairs, and not through the actual lanes where the seats were. B&b theaters are always my go-to when I go to see a movie, and they have all the amenities I listed that were lacking in this theater. I did like the popcorn, but now I know that I really hate the taste of coke lime, it was my first time trying it and that was hideous. My personal taste. I don't believe it should be valued in this review, I just felt like mentioning it. I just felt like the experience was very lackluster and missing a lot of key points that would make me feel comfortable while enjoying the magic at the movies.
TLDR: The armrest was not flushed with the seat. It reclines, there were very few floor lights and it was very difficult to see, I hope these issues as well as others can be corrected so future movie goers can be fully immersed...
