Panda Express — Restaurant in Olathe

It's like every other decent Panda Express that I've ever been in. They're rarely spotlessly clean and the food is the definition of fast "ethnic" food. Not terrible, but not anywhere near as delicious as the real thing. However, it is definitely fast. The biggest problem for this location is that it is literally next to Joe's KC, one of the best BBQ places in the country. So when you pay $12 for mediocre Chinese food, you can't help but realize that for maybe $5 to $10 more, you could be eating some of the best BBQ in the world with fries or onion rings that you'd sell your mother-in-law for. This Panda does have a drive thru that is usually very fast, unless you have to wait a few minutes if they run out of the entree you ordered and have to cook more. So apparently when you order orange chicken and egg rolls the staff think you mean orange and chicken egg rolls. Only the drive thru is open so making sure the order is correct is key since their are 10 cars in line. We debate with the lady because we feel they got our order wrong. When I say orange chicken and eggs rolls they want to argue and says you said chicken egg rolls. We clarify orange chicken and veggie spring roll. She says it is correct and I get no orange chicken and chicken egg rolls. Since I can't get into the store or want to wait 10 cars I go to the door and all they want to do is point me through the drive through. I am calling and can see the phone next to them ringing. This location might as well be a Door Dash ONLY venue. The place was almost empty when our family arrived around 6p last night, but when we got to the counter, the 2 employees chose to fulfill multiple Door Dash orders before they would help us. (No less than 3 Door Dash orders even though no Door Dash people were even there waiting yet.) And there was NO ONE in line behind us!! They should alternate Door Dash orders with in-person customers... not completely ignore the customers who are standing in line in front of them. After 8-10 minutes of waiting on Door Dash orders, we took our family of 6 and our $75 elsewhere. (Before we left, I noticed the chow mein had NO veggies. And food quality and quantity overall seemed lacking.) We used to love them, but sadly, we won't be back...
