The Home Depot — Attraction in Opelika

Worst retail experience ever. Never order doors/windows from Home Depot (specifically Opelika, AL) I ordered a custom sliding door and several windows for a renovation. The door came in damaged and had to reorder which put me behind on the project. I was called and emailed that the windows were in several times so i made trips to pick them up only to find that they were not at the store. One of the windows finally showed up and it was damaged. The re-ordered slider finally came in and was again damaged. The store is refusing to refund the money for the second damaged slider. They are telling me that they are having the manufacturer warranty it but the manufacturer is not responding. Absolutely terrible customer service and unprofessional handling of a situation that HD is responsible for. I have called the last 3 days in an attempt to speak to a manager. After over an hour on hold each day, I am going to just let an attorney handle it. Completely ridiculous. Now I have a damaged door that I can't use and HD refuses to...

My husband and I purchased a lawn mower at the Home Depot in Opelika, Alabama. The box was opened, but the lady working in the department said, “I have checked everything in the box and it is perfect. It was just opened in transition.” My husband and I purchase the mower and get it home to begin putting it together. What should we discover! The ha flew on the mower is bent so badly the metal is cracked and breaking. We pack everything back up, with plans to exchange it the following day. I call the store to tell them what happened and to ask if they would hold another of the same model mower. They place me on hold, where I remain for almost 30 minutes, only to be hung up on. I call back, have to explain the situation again, and once again am placed on hold and hung up on. I try one more time, only to go through the entire process again and get hung up on. Exceptional help! Bruce from the electrical department was nice, patience and knowledgeable about electrical. He made it easy for us to get everything we needed to install our rough electrical for our soon to be home. We've been going to this location for the past couple of years, and we don't really get the help we need and the knowledge from the associates we come across. In fact, for the most part, once I start asking questions, they seem to run away from it with an excuse of, "let me get someone from this department". It would be nice if someone does come back but instead it becomes a ghostown. Bruce comes in after 5 or 6 pm. I think this may be his part-time gig. If you're looking for some exceptional help, look for him after 5 pm. That's the only downside that I can think of. In addition, he is also knowledgeable in plumbing. I hope this help many of you.
