Iâve been a member for almost 2 years now and I wish Iâd joined sooner.
TLDR: Orange studio is spacious and well equipped. Coaches and staff make exercising fun.
OTF Orange studio: There are 14 stations and the layout is well thought-out and spacious. The staff keep the studio clean, tidy and functional.
Weights range from 5lb to 75lb dumbbells. Lighter weights are available at each station while heavier weights are off to the side of the weight floor.
This studioâs treadmills max out at 12mph. There are new treadmills you may find at other studios, which max out at 15mph. There are also 2 bikes and 1 strider.
There are 2 restrooms and 1 shower. Niceties in the restrooms include spray-on deodorant, hair ties, tampons and mouthwash.
The staff are on top of all maintenance for all the equipment.
OTF Orange staff: Coaches Coach Casi My intro class was with Casi and I ended up signing up the same day! Sheâs great at reading the energy in the room and amps us all up during those high intensity moments in class. Her tips on form have been game-changers for me. If you want an energetic ambiance and like the occasional country workout playlist, Coach Casi will not disappoint.
Coach Mark Mark was the first coach to challenge me by bringing me a heavier set of dumbbells. Turns out I was holding back! He can tell when youâre ready to progress but not quite confident enough to do so yourself. This may be hit-or-miss with some members but I personally enjoy it. Hip Hip Hooray!
Coach Kiley I donât think there is a more energetic coach than Kiley. Sheâs one of the few coaches that can really deliver inspirational phrases and have them resonate while youâre dying on the treadmill. My personal favorite is âyouâre here for a good time AND a long time!â. Kiley is also one of the most competitive people I know. Catch her at Hyrox trying to PR.
Coach Jill Jill is the newest coach here at Orange and youâd never be able to tell. She is a member-turned-coach so she really understands and believes in the OTF program. Her playlists really set the tone for class and she likes to crank up the volume in her classes so if you want to drown out the world for a bit, Jill is your coach.
Coach Ethan If you want to lift heavy, Ethan is the coach for you. He does powerlifting outside of OTF and is more than happy to share his knowledge with members. Heâs helped me nail down my deadlift form and taught me how to hook-grip dumbbells when my forearms refuse to cooperate.
Front Desk Kate She orchestrates the whole studio. She quickly troubleshoots any technical issues and most people never notice anything happened. Browse through the OTF Orange instagram account and see the effort she and the front desk put into decorating for OTF events like DriTri and Transformation Challenge. She really should consider going pro as a balloon arch-ist!
Rilynn She once told me she knows almost every members name at OTF Orange. And I believe her! When members walk in, she simply asks what station they would like and thatâs that. She makes you feel like youâre a regular from day one. She's super sharp and humble too. Aces her stats class and claims to be bad at math. Talk about mutually exclusive!
Logan If youâre signing up for your first free class, chances are high that sheâll be the one greeting you and showing you around the studio. Iâve seen her check in on first-timers during the middle of class to see how theyâre doing. It ainât easy being salesperson of the year but somehow, she manages. Sheâs also a great resource for half-marathon prep as sheâs run something like 5 now!
Exercising in general is tough and finding something that works for you can be deeply personal. While I canât guarantee everyone will have the same experience Iâve had, I do believe there is a coach at OTF Orange for everyone. The people here are incredibly knowledgeable and willing to help with whatever fitness goals you...
Read moreIâve been in different Orange theory studios. Iâve been to studios in Illinois, in different studios in California but this one is by far the worst. The studio is fine, most of the instructors are good, not all of them though. First of all, the heart monitors we got were not working properly from the start, and the staff kept telling us that it was fine, they tried to fix the ones we had, they kept giving us different advises how to make it work. Because of that a part of the class is wasted fixing the heart monitor. Secondly, in this studio if youâre late be sure youâll be charge the late fee. Other studios tend to be more understanding. We didnât get in the class because we were late 20 seconds on Orange Theory clock, on my phone the time was still good to start the class. And it didnât happen once. There are other companies that do workouts like that (for example AKT) and they also have late cancellation fees but they are more flexible. In general I was not happy with the staff there and their luck of empathy. If you want to go to Orange Theory I recommend other studios (Brea is great, Cypress, La Habra)....
Read moreI started my OTF journey in September 2022. I am a 58 yr old female. I consistently attend an average of 3-4 classes/week (I recently hit a total of 300 classes attended). My reason for joining was to add exercise to my normal routine, to feel and get stronger, and basically just go somewhere where I am told what to do within the parameters of my own specific abilities. I got all that and more with the OrangeTheory experience.
I was so nervous for my first class because I assumed I was walking into a gym full of young, fit, competitive people who were going to look at me and wonder why I thought I belonged there, but what I walked into was a gym full of people of all ages, all body types who were welcoming and supportive. My schedule coincides with classes coached by Casi and Kiley, who are both AMAZING. They seem to instinctively know when to support, encourage or provide direction.
Additionally, the studio manager, Kate, and studio assistants Rilynn and Logan always greet me with positivity and are excited to share in any milestones or updates in my...
