This is my first time leaving a bad review, for a terrible and rude attitude from the waitress, to name her - the lighter-hair-coloured waitress with a bun on her head. I put in a take-out order at 4:22 on a Monday, to avoid the crowd and save time. I completely understood you probably had an expectedly busy Monday, and you're short-staffed, I get it. So I kindly ask the waitress, due to I have a small dog with me, so I don't want to go into the restaurant for food safety reason, could she kindly bring the food and payment machine out so I could pay. She said: "give me one moment, I have quite a bit going on now", and walked away. Sure, completely understand, I patiently waited outside for 15mins, she just kept on serving other customer, went by me every time without looking, and did not check the counter for my food at all. To a point other seated customer offered to watch my dog so I could enter and grab my food. I went in, there's a tall dark hair waiter who's nice, I could tell he's so busy but still has a decent manner to communicate, told me the food is not quite ready, after I paid, I waited for another 20mins. Finally he grabbed my Margarita to go in a glass and put it on the counter, he said he would pour it into a cup, just need to wait a bit. I just kept waiting outside. Another 10mins passed, I asked the same waitress again for my take out. a cold "one moment", and went straight to serve other seated customer, passing counter grabbing other food, never checked my food. At that point, I started wondering, is it because I'm ASIAN?? Seriously? Cuz she has no problem being polite and communicate with other customer. Am I not your customer?? I paid $70 for a single takeout. And then I realised, maybe because I'm not dining in, so she's not tipped by my order??! Ah that makes more sense now. That's pretty nasty there. After a while I asked her for the 3rd time, and same thing happened again, went straight in, grabbing other people's food and never checked my food. Just like that, I waited for my TAKEOUT for 1hr. And a cherry on the top, I finally asked another shorter lighter hair waiter (excuse my description, no offence) to just grab my food, and put my Margarita drink into cup to go please. And he did grab my food FINALLY, but later came out told me : "you have to drink your margarita here, it's against the law to take it to go" ....... ARE YOU SERIOUS? I told him just put it in a sealed cup, I can take it to go, I ordered plenty of times. He just refused and told me "By law you can't", and walked away. .. So, I have my margarita drink on the table.. in a glass.. and paid, just sitting there, no attended. I had to take out my phone, freaking looking up the law, and YES YOU CAN TAKE AN ALCOHOL TO GO BY LAW, as long it's in a sealed cup packed by restaurant. At this point I was pretty pissed, and I couldn't get a chance to show him cuz he's too busy. FINALLY, after 1hour, that taller waiter helped me putting the drink in a to-go cup, and APOLOGISED for taking so much time. THANK YOU! He kept reassuring me the other waitress did not mean to ignore me. Well I say it could not be more obvious that she's only willing to give a sh*t if you're a sit-down customer in her area. I know this is just one-customer feedback, and they obviously have great reviews, and I'm happy for them. Unfortunately my food experience was ruined by what happened there. But a friendly tip, maybe not ordering take out there, at least check in advance making sure they're not...
Read moreEmbarrassment to Italian food and the restaurant industry in downtown Orlando. Do not waste your time or money here. Service was extremely slow-it looked like just 2 servers for entire restaurant at dinner and clearly just half a kitchen or maybe one of the servers is also the "chef." No large pizza or hot sandwiches/burgers-they claim they don't have a big enough oven for certain nights of the week. We had a reservation and stood outside waiting for assistance-the host was standing right in front of me, not dressed like a host, name tag, tablet or notepad, besides not saying anything when we walked up. We weren't the only customers waiting without knowing he was the host. Very odd. Despite reservations, we were seated at a table adjacent to both bathrooms. Lovely to see the toilets each time the doors opened and to have people standing behind us waiting their turn. The food took over an hour to arrive at table-and it was just 3 of the meals of our party of 6! Half an hr later-rest of meals arrived. Calzone and pizza were not the best in the area, but not bad. Meatballs-looked and tasted like fake or over-processed meat-you could see air pockets in them. Eggplant parm-eggplant was RAW! Sent back after first bite. "Chicken Francaise" was fried chicken that was so overcooked that the meat curled up on the edges-also sent back immediately. Greek salad-they tried telling us the Caesar dressing with salad was indeed Greek dressing-it was a creamy, thick white dressing. That's not Greek dressing. Salad looked fine but was boxed up unfortunately since other meals sent back to kitchen.Waitress tried telling us that is how they make chicken francaise. Nope. It should be dredged in flour and egg then simmered in lemon, butter and white wine sauce. Regardless of the recipe-they served hard, dried out chicken. We would have enjoyed a good chicken cutlet. All of that time at the table and waitress never asked if we needed any drink refills. When someone in our group asked for water since his glass of soda was empty, she didn't acknowledge the rest of our empty glasses and ask if we wanted refills or water. She returned with a pitcher of water & poured it into the used soda cup that had the water down drink and melting ice. Waitress didn't give us the check. Just told us the total & expected us to hand over a credit card for $200, no questions asked. I would never do that, especially at a place like this with so many questionable practices. Chef or Manager didn't come to table to talk to us about any of our concerns. I will never return here and would never recommend it. Too many issues and crap food. $200 later with a required 20% gratuity and half of us didn't even eat! Our time with family and hard earned money are too precious to ever...
Read moreWas in Downtown Orlando for a night and decided to stop in, as I really wanted a good slice of pizza. Saw the reviews and the place looked of higher quality than a standard pizza joint. I wasn’t sure if I seat myself or if I wait to be seated (I wanted to sit outside), so I walked up to the kitchen counter and asked and another server just pointed to a table outside and said “there”and walked the other way. Okay… I was brought a menu and some water pretty quickly. When it came time to order, about 20 minutes later (they were busy, and that’s okay) I only wanted a single slice or two, as it was just me. The waitress told me they weren’t doing that at the moment. When she first brought me the menu, she told me they weren’t doing large pizzas or sandwiches, she never mentioned anything about the single slices. That’s fine, I asked for a calzone. She said they didn’t have any at the moment. After a few minutes of trying to order and they basically had nothing but 12” pizzas and appetizers, I finally decided on the prosciutto appetizer. It was brought pretty quickly, even though they were packed (there was an event going on right next door at the Kia Center). When the plate was put in front of me, I was very disappointed. The prosciutto was just thick sliced ham and so rough and chewy that the knife wouldn’t cut through it, I had to rip it apart with my fingers. The “burrata” cheese was the lowest quality mozzarella they could have put on that plate to call “burrata.” The tomato slices it came with were green, they didn’t even bother to use ripe tomatoes. AND TOMATOES ARE IN SEASON. I wasn’t expecting the highest quality ingredients from this place, but $20 for some burrata cheese and 4 slices of “prosciutto” seemed like it would be at least mid-grade. Another server (the one that “seated” me) asked if everything was okay, and offered garlic rolls as an apology for how he seated me. I took him up on the offer and after about 20 minutes I was brought 3 of the smallest garlic rolls I’ve ever seen. I’m not complaining, it was just me and I wasn’t going to eat more than he brought. They were extremely crunchy on the outside, and tasted slightly burnt, but were soft inside. I was going to just leave and eat elsewhere, but the waitress took 25 minutes to bring the check. I try not to ward off an establishment from one bad encounter, especially if it’s the first, but I...
