I want to share my honest experience selling my 2008 Toyota Highlander to Wheelzy. To be completely honest, after reading some of the negative reviews online, I was a little suspicious and nervous about using themâespecially when it came to check payments. Many reviews mentioned issues with checks bouncing or delayed processing, so I was cautious from the start. However, my experience turned out to be smooth and hassle-free.
When I first entered my carâs details on their website, I received an offer of $1,500 after negotiation. I called a few local junkyards to compare, but none of them could beat Wheelzyâs price. I even tried negotiating for $1,700, but they firmly stuck to $1,500 with free towing included. Since I didnât have a better offer elsewhere, I decided to go with Wheelzy. I believe this is a good deal for a non-drivable 2008 Toyota highlander base model with bad transmission.
From the moment I accepted the offer, Carlo from Wheelzy was super helpful, explaining every step of the process clearly. He let me know what documents I needed, how the pickup would work, and most importantly, how the payment would be handled. Like many people, I was worried about getting a check instead of cash, but he reassured me that the check would be valid.
On the scheduled pickup day, the tow truck arrived on time, and the driver was professional and efficient. I was also pleased to see that the dispatcher was from Copart, which is a renowned, reputable, and reliable company that I was already familiar with. Knowing that Copart was involved gave me even more confidence in the process. The driver checked the car, gave me the check for $1,500 before loading it, and we were done in just a few minutes.
I immediately deposited the check using my Wells Fargo mobile app, keeping an eye on my bank account to make sure it was legitimate. Within 24 hours, the money was fully available, with no holds, no delays, and no issues. This gave me peace of mind, knowing that everything was handled properly.
The entire process was super easy and fast. One thing that stood out to me was that Carlos from Wheelzy even followed up the next day to check if everything went smoothly and to make sure the driver paid exactly as arranged, which was great customer service.
Iâm not sure why some people have had bad experiences, but in my case, Wheelzy was reliable, professional, and delivered exactly what they promised. I am in Huntsville, Texas, and while I canât speak for other parts of the country, in this part of Texas, you can feel completely safe doing business with them.
If youâre thinking about selling a junk or non-running car, I would definitely recommend them anytime to anyone.
Overall, great customer service, great experience, and a fair price! đđ° They definitely deserve 5 stars...
Read moreMy experience started out fine. Everything was going well response time from the representatives Were great. They were actively managing text and emails and responding as such to move forward. when it came to picking up the vehicle and paying the agreed amount for the vehicle, The tow truck driver came out to pick up the vehicle And gave me a check that Was copied on a piece of copy paper and no endorsement Line on the back of the check. I called the bank in which the check was drawn on, and they would not verify the funds for the check. So this got me a bit discouraged and I called the company back telling them my concern and that the bank would not cash the check because they could not verify it. After talking with about three managers or people in charge initially I was told they will have another vendor in my city to deliver a check to me the very next morning after I spoke to him then another manager called asking the same questions going through the same cycles. At this point, I am overly frustrated. I would like to have the cash for my truck that you have towed away. At this point, I have no vehicle and I have no title because it all has been turned over to Wheelzy. I continue to get text or emails requesting me to verify my address so that they can send me a check through the mail. I have expressed to them that I need my money now and it was not in the deal for me to get a check in the mail and I will have to wait a couple of days. At this point, I am overly exhausted behind a few hundred dollars however I know that they did get a better value. based on my experience with this company, no, I would not recommend this company to anyone simply because they have towed away my vehicle. Theyâve gotten the title to the vehicle and I have not received payment and it is now More than 24 hours past the time that they have towed my vehicle and theyâre still asking me for a verification of my address when they have my address because they had The address in order to pick up the vehicle. Itâs not worth the time or the effort. But to you who did get your check in exchange for your vehicle glad for you! This is an experience that she would really want to tell no one itâs embarrassing yet unbelievable especially when they have so many great reviews. If my few hundred dollars is going to increase your worth taking away from me to help your multimillion dollar company, pity on you and all...
Read moreI spoke with the tower around 10 AM and was informed my vehicle would be towed between 12 PM and 1 PM. He said he would call when he was on his way since the vehicle was at my friendâs house, about 30 minutes from where I live. I never heard from him, so I texted at 1:31 PM with no response. I called at 1:58 PM, and he said his tow truck was having issues and was waiting on a mechanicâit would be a couple more hours.
I kept the Wheelzy representative informed via text throughout the day. At 4:25 PM, I texted the tower again for an updateâstill no response. I then called Wheelzy to report what was happening. The representative told me, âThis is how it works.â I explained that it was unprofessional to have a customer waiting all day with no communication. I had cleared my schedule to get my vehicle towed and couldnât take another day off.
When I asked to speak with a manager, the rep said he was one. I asked what other options I had, and he said they could request a different tower. I agreed and asked if they could come the same day. He then asked if I wanted to keep the same offer amount, and I said yes since my offer was still valid. He then said the new tower would have to âagree to the price.â I reminded him that the need for a new tower wasnât my fault and that it was Wheelzyâs responsibility to manage their service providers.
I was then transferred to the new tower, who said they had seven customers ahead of me and couldnât promise to come that day. I called Wheelzy back to share that, and they told me it would be done today. At 6:46 PM, I finally got a call that the tower was en route.
When the new tower arrived, I provided the title and received the money. However, while loading my vehicle, the tow chain brokeâthankfully, no one was hurt. The tower called someone, but later told me they couldnât complete the tow and would have to return another day.
After all that, a Wheelzy rep had the nerve to text me asking for a positive review. I will absolutely share my honest experience.
I will never use this company again. They lack accountability, fail to communicate effectively, and do not hold their towers to professional standards. My frustration is primarily with the Wheelzy rep and the first tower, who both need serious training in customer service and...
