Visit Date: September 5 at 14:45 , I visited OnSpot Dermatology and was seen by Dr. Theresa. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Despite explaining that I had itchy skin all over my body, Dr. Theresa stood several feet away and did not examine me or ask to see the affected areas. She simply said she would prescribe medication and mentioned it was a steroid. I expressed that I preferred not to take steroids, especially since this was my first time experiencing skin issues, and asked for a topical treatment instead. She then agreed to prescribe a cream, instructing me to use it for two weeks, stop for one week, and return after a month for a follow-up. However, when I went to the pharmacy, the cream provided was only enough for three days. I called the clinic multiple times and eventually left a message asking Dr. Theresa to call me back, as my condition had worsened. She returned my call on Thursday and explained that insurance restrictions prevented her from prescribing enough cream to cover the full month. She then suggested I come back so she could take a skin sample and examine it under a microscope—something I feel should have been done during the initial visit. I agreed, and we arranged for someone from the clinic to call me with a sooner appointment. They scheduled me for Saturday afternoon. When I arrived, I was asked to pay a $125 copay. I explained that this was a follow-up visit and I had already paid a week earlier without receiving any benefit. The staff insisted that the insurance required the payment. I declined to pay and left without seeing the doctor. Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I did not feel cared for or listened to, and I will not be returning to...
Read moreI wish I had the same "friendly, congenial & caring" Dr & tech as others claim they had on MY very 1st On Spot Derm appt. The gentleman outside who took my info was extremely friendly however, that's where it ended after entering the mobile unit. I was shown a tiny room & asked if I wanted a gown or no gown & "what did I want today?" I was a little confused so I asked her what she meant to which she replied, "do you have a spot you want removed or something you want looked at?" I said I thought they did full skin cancer screening which is why I booked the appt. She then said to put the gown on and the Dr will be in & to sit in the chair, which btw, was tilted forward & very uncomfortable (I'm short & I kept slipping out of the chair). Once the Dr (aka NP) entered she introduced herself & went right to the exam. I pointed out some spots that concerned me including a spot behind my ear that my daughter told me I needed to get checked (the main reason I booked the appt). The exam was brief & she looked at only one ear & said she didn't see anything. She had the tech (nurse?) do the biopsy on a spot she located on my back as I stood & then said they'd get back to me w/results. I was told to get dressed & that was that. It was IMHO a very impersonal experience. I did get a call back & need to have it removed however, I hesitate to have it done w/On Spot & have to stand up while a tech does it. Given my experience, I will now take my disabled daughter to a Dermatologist office who hopefully has a friendly,...
Read moreSo far with my experience, you never see a medical doctor. The first appointment was in a trailer. Even though the nurse practitioner had knowledge of it, she couldn’t give me anything definite. She told me to come back in six weeks for a follow up, which I was under the impression that I would see a medical doctor, but instead saw another nurse practitioner who took pictures once again and admitted this appointment wasn’t necessary. She could not see my test results because apparently they never received it even though I got them done the following day after my first appointment. I went ahead and screenshot my results from my app and send it to their email. Afterwards, she said that the clinical team ( so not her) will look at the results and then put an order in for the prescription which will be mailed to me. She said she will leave a note to let them tell me the cost (which should be the standard ).The second appointment was a complete waste of time, at no point do you see a medical doctor. Nurse practitioners are an asset but not a doctor. They go by repetition , not by being professionally educated on...
