Hull's Seafood Market — Attraction in Ormond Beach

I drive 30 minutes to come specifically to this fish market recommended highly by a close friend who knows the owner but i will be taking my money somewhere else.

I placed my order after two other people but WE waited 30 minutes after 6 other new orders were made, prepared, charged and then out of the market... my father, daughter and i waited on the side to allow other customers to come in and order... when i finally decided to bring attention to my order the older lady who stated they had been working on my order but it was sitting on the counter unattended for over 20 minutes. I was observing them from the moment my order was placed, the two men that were supposed to be cleaning my order got nasty with me but it was THEIR job to clean my fish before taking other orders. I am a paying customer like everyone else and if there is disorganization in your work flow that has nothing to do with me. You should take, prepare and charge orders before taking new orders to improve work flow and function...

I dined alone. The server came and took my drink order and when she finally brought it, she said, "I'm sorry, I made it and then forgot to bring it". I ordered the blackened scallops basket with red potatoes and got two hush puppies. The potatoes weren't warm enough to even melt the butter, the hush puppies were cold, and the server never returned again after my food came, so that I could tell her. I never got a drink refill... then when she did come back, she brought my check. I gave her cash and she didn't bring all my change. She kept the coin change. I called her back to the table to tell her she short changed me (it was more than a couple of pennies. It was 29 cents, not a lot, but she assumed I wouldn't want it. ) she says, " oh you want the 29 cents?" I said, "yes" and she starts digging in her apron and brings out 35 cents. I did leave her an 18% tip on the bill...I go to Hull's once or twice a month, but this really left a "bad taste in...

I am so disappointed Hull's had been our go to place we even recommended them to our friends and guests at the Resort after eating there Sunday I hope everyone forgets what we said . We always ordered deep-fried clams and got an honest portion this time three of us ordered them and putting them together we had enough for one person but that person would not have been happy because they were soggy I ordered the fish and chips ( catfish ) they do Not know how to cook catfish I got 3-4 1x1 inch 3 inch thick chunks of catfish still slimy inside the wait staff all acted like we were disturbing their cell phone time the girl taking your name for seating kept sitting down on the edge of an ( unlit ) outside heater and could not be bothered to even look up when taking your name and the New England clam chowder was thick like a paste and tasted like it was made from a powder I apologize to anyone that I may have sent there and no we will...
