Ok so the first time we came to Pogosa we missed out on this gem. This time we made it a point to grab breakfast and lunch here.
Breakfast I opted for the breakfast burrito with sausage egg and cheese, oh and fresh grated hash browns. It was awesome and unlike most places the value to dollar ratio was spot on. Burrito is a good large size with the above and some pico and salsa inside. Definitely great for a full day of fun and delicious. My only wish would be if it was toasted on the outside.
Lunch I had to get the southwest cheese steak. Holy cow this was a great sandwich. Loaded with flavor, the beef was perfectly and the sliced cheese was crisped over it. The gooey cheese had a nice flavor of chili and was not over abundant so the bread was not soggy and wet. Oh and the bread was airy and light with a mild crunch. Despite it being a cheese steak sandwich it eats like a light deli roll. This is definitely a top 5 sandwich for me
Overall, you will get great values, wonderful environment, and super friendly staff that have that great mountain charm. It was a true pleasure...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in years. This place used to be decent, but it’s fallen so far it’s almost impressive.
We stopped in as a last resort since our usual spot was closed. Big mistake. The hashbrowns were cooked on the same grill as an Italian sandwich, so they came out tasting like jalapeño and balsamic—completely inedible. When we brought it up, the guy behind the counter actually said “they’ve been putting balsamic in the hashbrowns this whole time,” which, yeah right.
On top of that, the hashbrowns were not crispy and were oxidized badly, the bacon was so burned it shattered in my hand, and the whole plate was a mess. When we asked for a refund, they refused and offered another sandwich instead—why would I want more food from the same broken kitchen?
Zero accountability, no care in the cooking, and absolutely no reason to return. Steer clear unless you’re nostalgic for...
Read moreThe food quality was good. Had a breakfast burrito that was quite large and tasty. However this business uses deceptive practices to overcharge customers. Our party of 7 got hit with 18% gratuity. This is problematic for a few reasons: This is a counter service cafe, not a sit down restaurant. There’s no extra work involved and debatable whether any counter service should get tips. We were 3 traveling families and paid separately. I guess because we walked through the door together we’re somehow a large party? They present you a receipt to sign with a tip line without ever disclosing they already charged you tip. Some in the party tipped on top of the ridiculous auto gratuity.
Steer clear of these dishonest...
