Absolutely horrible customer service. Four of us went to breakfast here the other day, three of us received our meals and they were really good. My wife on the other hand took one bite of the potatoes and one bite of the beans with her huevos rancheros and it was terrible. We informed the waitress that the food was inedible so she took the plate away. She did not offer to bring my wife anything else to eat so my wife simply shared my meal. When the bill came I looked at it and informed the waitress she forgot to take my wife’s meal off of the check. She told me she was not allowed to take it off and she could only offer a discount. I explain to her again that my wife had not eaten the meal because it was terrible and he would not be paying for it. She begin to argue with me that she would only be able to discount the meal and would not be able to do anything else for us. I asked for the manager. She said her manager was not in. She again reiterated should would be happy to discount the meal at which point I told her we would not pay for anything if I was not able to speak to someone of authority. She said she could get the kitchen manager for us. When the kitchen manager came out and asked what the problem was, by that point my wife was pretty upset and stated that they were trying to rob us. I interjected and explained the situation to the kitchen manager. She also stated that she could only offer a discount and that it was not their fault because it was the owners recipes. This made absolutely no sense. We eat out on a regular basis and have never had a situation where the meal was inedible yet we were expected to pay for it. I told her I would not pay for the meal. They refused to adjust the check so I left just enough cash on the table to pay for the other three meals. The kitchen manager also told us if we didn’t like it we could leave a review....

Second visit: Came back the next day because I could not stop obsessing over the green Chile omelette, but with more green chile and sausage instead of bacon, with sliced avocado on top -that's what I ordered the second time around and my gosh was it delicious, and filling. I could only eat half! Thanks to the staff for being so accommodating. Please know this omelette inspired me to add green chiles to my eggs at home now too (YouTube vlog coming in a few weeks, where I mention the meal is "The Rose" inspired!) My partner ordered the mushroom omelette and it was also loaded with mushrooms and so filling he could also only eat half his meal, he also had a yummy pancake on the side. And the hash browns are nice and crisp. Customer service is great! Thank you guys, not just for the service, the delicious food, or accommodating my requests, but for being creative with the food and inspiring me in ways I hadn't imagined.

Definitely recommend!!!

First visit: Very cute, thoughtful interior. Check out the ceiling, the plants with flowers along the ceiling as well, it's quaint but has big "welcome" vibes. Our waitress was patient and very accommodating with requests. I ordered the hatch green chili omelette, avocado instead of hash browns- it is incredible! I definitely recommend. The omelette was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the green chilis was exactly what I wanted. My partner ordered the smothered breakfast burrito green chili on the side. It is cool their green chili is made with beef and not pork, but the taste overall was just not there for us. The burrito overall was ok. Also got a pancake which was huge and delicious. Service was prompt....

Had country fried steak sandwich, $14 + 2.50 fries. They brought a dry piece of frozen something they called a chicken fry steak on a dry bun no condiments 2 slices of tastless tomato and aone piece of swmi wilted lettuce. Ask for mayonnaise which they brought , my wife and I split it. Even slathered in mayo dry, tasteless, we talked about leaving after he first bite , we were hungry our waitress was nice and we didnt want to get into it so we ate most of it, fries were ok. Waitress came back ask how it was , my wife says you want the truth, she said yes and we both explained it was awful. Didnt blame her said if someone else orders this you should tell them this is not a good item. About five minutes later another waitress, manager??? who was confrontational Came by and said I hear you got a problem with your order, we said yes told her the same. She didnt like our answer and was talking loud and sad shed comp our meal which we didnt ask or want, because we ate most. She stormed off we waited about 15 min more for our ck but they ignored us so we left, leaving a tip for...

The Rose Cafe is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by its farmhouse-inspired decor, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The space offers a variety of seating options, from comfy booths to intimate tables for two, and even a communal table perfect for a group. The wait staff was exceptionally friendly, greeting me with a big, warm smile. My waitress took the time to chat with me, making me feel like an old friend rather than just another customer. I ordered the egg white omelet, which was generously stuffed with fresh veggies and topped with a delicious layer of Swiss cheese. The texture was wonderfully creamy, and the cup of fresh fruit on the side was the perfect complement. The coffee, served in large mugs featuring their charming logo, was just the cherry on top of an already delightful experience. The Rose Cafe feels like home, and I will visit again next time I come through!

This was an awesome little coffee shop / breakfast joint. I had the huevos rancheros with scrambled, red and green chile (christmas) and am order of Pagosa toast, Texas toast dipped in pancake batter rather than egg wash. If you come here, get the Pagosa toast, share it with the table if you don't want to eat the full order but it's worth a try. Side note: The coffee mugs are larger than most, I didn't run out. There was a single waitress and she was cranking it out, no wasted movements, she made sure coffees were full and everyone order was in order. She was polite and on the ball, a true professional. I'll definitely be returning and I'll recommend The Rose to anyone I know is heading to Pagosa.
