Payson City Library — Attraction in Payson

This library may seem small from the outside, but it packs the best books & resources in there! Blown away by how well done this library is. Amazing selection of kid nonfiction, and all the classics for picture books & juvenile chapter books. The librarians are super helpful in recommendations, getting your library card, and checking out. I love their take-home activities/crafts with links to recorded videos of the librarians reading the story! Highly recommend their themed discovery kits!! We’ve done the pirates & Harry Potter kits so far, and they were wins with LEGOs and very interactive unique books/games—wish they could be checked out for longer than 1wk or renewable. I'm reviewing this as a guest and not a patron since I don't have a library card here but have visited multiple times with young children.

The library is clean and well-organized. It is a great place to relax and read, safe and comfortable from the rain, cold, sun, or heat. There are flyers with information about community and library events which are very helpful! There are fun decorations and is a good selection of books my kids wanted to read. There also appears to be a large selection of movies and TV shows on the front and some in the children's area. The children's area has some toys to play with and there was a scavenger hunt activity as well. There's a teens-only lounge area which is nice to have. This library may be small, but it is super impressive. They have done a good job at collection development and have been able to fit a lot of books in a small area. They have a lot of great resources and services besides just books. They have done a lot to adapt to covid limitations -take home crafts and activities, at home story times, etc. I'm looking forward to when we can go to story time at the library again; I'm sure it will be excellent. Everyone who works there has been kind, helpful and friendly; no matter when we've gone and who we've interacted with. We are always greeted when we come in.
