This is a great spot tucked away on the border of the county. There are plenty of shaded trails that include great scenery and different types of trees. I have seen owls, cranes, frogs, lizards turtles, snakes, and a deer while hiking/walking here. I have also noticed at least 6-7 different types of fungi. Be advised that most of the trails include variations in grade if they proceed down to the creek. There are lots of exposed roots on the trails as well so if you have trouble with your balance you may want to keep in mind the upper trail by the pond to your left as you pull in to park. It does not go down to the creek or have much shade, but since there isn't shade, that means fewer roots from trees. I recommend seeing Mule Rock by the creek. It's one of a kind and belongs on the UNESCO list (I'm kidding, but why not check out a random Mule glyph/sculpture while getting exercise, YOLO). This nature areal provides many great spots to read a book (community library box for leave-a-book-take-a-book onsite), or go fishing after escaping the horrendous PTC traffic. 😆
Please pack in and pack out. I've picked up a bag worth of trash cleaning up after people. This includes inflatables used in the creek!!!
There are restrooms, so please use them and not the trails. You're better than that....

Before I even went on the trail I was entranced by the intense turtle-filled drama that was playing out before my eyes as I watched from the pier by the parking lot. A snapping turtle was hanging out on one side of the pond while a red eared slider and her hatchling lounged on the other. All was well, until out of nowhere the red eared hatchling started to swim towards the lonesome snapping turtle. Turtles tend to cohabitate fairly well, but you never know what can happen...The hatchling got closer and closer until he booped the snapper before promptly getting wacked in return. The hatchling was alright, but phew, it was quite the show.
The biodiversity here is awesome as well. I saw tons of turtles (like seriously, so many turtles), ducks, fish, and even a snake!

Read moreI always love visiting Line Creek. The nature trail is very relaxing to me, but for us, the main reason for every visit is the creek. We take our 3 dogs, who absolutely love the water & there are so many spots for us to explore.
My pups have an absolute blast every single time and that alone makes every visit amazing for us! Seeing the pure joy & excitement from our dogs while they're out there playing is enough to make it a great experience. Whether you have dogs to take with you or it's just you and friends, the Line Creek Nature Area never disappoints!
**Always remember, if you bring your pups along for the adventure, bring some bags to clean up after them and keep them leashed for their safety and the safety of other visitors! Be respectful of the area and as always, have an AMAZING TIME, ENJOY YOUR ADVENTURE & MAKE LASTING MEMORIES!! You...
