Edit, new review Nov 2024:
TLDR- unacceptable service and a horrible experience in a previously well loved spot. Waited almost 90 minutes to get ramen!!
Full story: Brought my family to have dinner on a Tuesday night. 4 adults and two kids. The restaurant was about 50% capacity when we sat down. Placed an order right away for drinks and an apatizer, as well as the kids meal, knowing my toddler will be hungry. Waitress never introduced herself so I don't know her name. She forgot one of the drinks, I gently reminded her. After the last person arrived we ordered more appetizers and four orders of ramen. The appetizers came quickly and were absolutely delicious. Nothing followed. She never checked on us to see if the food was good or cleared out our appetizer plates. After 30 minutes, we started wondering what was taking so long. We watched as tables around us who sat down after we ordred, get their ramens. At 40 minutes, I called our server over and asked her to check on our food, and let us know what's going on. She said that the kitchen is backed up and its being cooked and almost ready. We told her the kids are getting upset and we need to know how long, she asked if we still want the food. We asked again, is it already being prepared or was it forgotten? If its almost ready we still want it. She answered that she put it in "well over 30 min ago" and she's "sure its almost ready". I said we might need to take it in boxes and eat at home. She then asked if we just want to cancel the order (how I WISH we said yes!) and said she can ask her manager for a discount. We tole her we are not asking for a discount, we just want the food asap. She then came back with the manager who offered us 15% off the bill. Again, we told him we just want to know how much longer. He left "to check" and never came back. At that point my husband took the toddler home and we called her to ask for the food to be brought in to-go boxes. We then waited another 20 minutes, while holding a crying infant, without a single update or apology. Kept trying to get her attention while she avoided eye contact and served other tables, clearly bypassing ours. Diners came, ate and left, and at 70 minutes I walked over to the bar where the server was standing and told her this is ridiculous and I want to know how much longer. She said 3 more minutes. I asked her again (for the 3rd time) to bring me a to go container for the leftover kids ramen. We waited a total of 85 minutes for take out. When we got the check, it was for the full original prices. I walked over to ask (again) for the last box, when the manager saw me he handed me a new check with 15% discount. There was at no point a true apology, explsnation or sense of regret for our terrible experience. Another server over heard me and said "we're so sorry, theres only one cook in the back". Now, I get they were busy. I also get mistakes happen. I am 100% sure that the order was either misplaced or accidentally overlooked. And had anyone come to us and take responsibility, apologize and offer us an update on the eta of the food, it would have been a different experience. But the utter avoidance and lack of acountability, was outright offensive. We watched at least 5 other tables arrive, get food, eat, pay and leave while we still waited. So we know it was not just a slow kitchen. I would expect a well run buisness to acknowledge their mistake and act like they care and offer to make things better. After paying 100$ for take away that we waited almost an hour and a half for, we will absolutely NOT come back. Which is a shame because we love the food here and come fairly often. My parents were visiting from across the world and it was an emberessing and unfortunate dinner experience. We got home 2 hours later, with fussy screaming kids, and none of us had dinner yet. This was truly one of the absolute worse dining experiences we...
Read moreOn a stormy day, when the world seemed drenched in melancholy, I stumbled upon the hidden gem that is Yume Ramen Bar in Peachtree City, GA. Little did I know that this unassuming establishment would whisk me away on a culinary journey of savory delights, leaving my taste buds happy and my tired soul nourished.
As I stepped inside, the cozy ambience of Yume Ramen Bar instantly embraced me like a warm blanket, providing solace from the raging tempest outside. The music was fun but not overwhelming and the staff were attentive.
The star of the show, the ramen, arrived at my table like a work of art. Each bowl was meticulously crafted, showcasing a symphony of colors, textures, and aromas. The first spoonful transported me to a realm of pure umami, as the rich broth enveloped my palate with its comforting warmth. The noodles danced delicately between my chopsticks, exhibiting the perfect balance of springiness and tenderness, as if they were whispering, "Indulge, savor, repeat."
The toppings elevated the ramen to new heights, offering a delightful interplay of flavors and textures. Tender slices of succulent chashu pork melted effortlessly in my mouth, while the marinated soft-boiled egg (which I normally do not like) added a velvety richness to the ensemble. The freshness of the crisp vegetables provided a refreshing contrast, harmonizing with the depth of the broth to create a symphony of taste.
The ingenuity of Yume Ramen Bar's menu extends beyond traditional offerings. Their creative twists on classic dishes are a testament to the culinary expertise of their kitchen.
It's worth noting that Yume Ramen Bar caters not only to ramen enthusiasts but also to those seeking alternative options. Read moreReview for Yume Ramen Bar: Their ramen is filling and has great flavor. I would definitely recommend getting their ramen if you decide to eat here.
We ordered the spicy chicken bun, the spicy chicken ramen, and the spicy miso ramen with a combo which included an iced Thai tea and a Yume bun. The spicy chicken bun was good overall but it wasn't spicy at all. It's fried chicken in a steamed bun with a sauce which was supposed to be spicy but wasn't. I would have prefered the bun to be spicier and saucier though the steamed bun itself had a great texture and tasted good. The spicy chicken ramen's broth was flavorful and the noodles were cooked nicely. The toppings added great flavor to the overall dish (the chicken chashu tasted better than I expected) and I was very satisfied with this dish, though as before, the dish itself wasn't spicy at all. I did not get to pick which spicy level I wanted because the server never asked, so I don't know what spicy level my dish was. The same applied to the spicy miso ramen.
The iced Thai tea was horrendous. It tasted very diluted and watery without much milk/creamer at all if any. It really just tasted like old tea that had been sitting out for days. It was not worth the money. The Yume bun was very good. The meat was juicy and tender and the bun itself had an adequate amount of sauce which added plenty of flavor.
