After a terrible experience using Expedia the staff of this hotel stepped up and made our stay amazing. We arrived on a Tuesday night for a four day softball tournament. We have two daughter both playing in the same tournament. We had booked a room for five nights using Expedia. Everything was charged and paid for on our end. It turns out that Expedia doesn’t actually pay for your room until the morning of and they use virtual Credit cards to pay. The card Expedia used was no good. When we arrived we learned that our room had been cancelled because of this. After calling Expedia and having to deal with terrible customer service from them and them only wanting to offer a refund not help us get a room, the hotel staff stepped up to the plate and found a way to work it out. They were able to get us a room even though there system showed no rooms available. All the while maintaining the highest level of professionalism I’ve ever had at a hotel. Not only did they sort out Expedias issue they made sure my girls stay was amazing. They insured our breakfast was taken care of every morning. They checked on the girls every afternoon and wanted to know how they did in the tournament. They were phenomenal. Expedia is garbage. Book your room through the hotel.

I travelled to the Jackson/Pearl area to meet with my adopted daughter (visiting her birth family). I've stayed at Hilton branded hotels many times for business and leisure travel for the consistently high quality and standards. Sadly, my recent stay at this hotel did not meet those expectations based on past experience. Problem #1 - LOUD The even numbered rooms on the back side of the hotel, face Interstate 20 and a major exit leading into Jackson/Pearl. I thought it odd when I checked in late on a Wednesday evening that there were two packages of earplugs on the pillows and that the HVAC fan in the room was set to high. I understood why at about 5am the next morning when I woke feeling I'd camped in the infield at the Talladega Motor Speedway (tm). As I lay in bed, the noise from the freeway registered 72 db consistently on a phone app. 75+ db will begin to cause hearing damage. The room had little insulation from the outside noise. I mentioned the noise issues to the (morning) manager and said that is why they included earplugs. They offered to move me to a room with a smaller bed on a middle floor, but due to injuries last year, I toss and turn. Smaller isn't safer in my case. Problem #2 - Dim Lighting Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but as an Hilton Honors member, I'm familiar with the company standards and requirements. The living area of the suite had limited lighting and felt like a cave. The bedroom area was mildly better until I turned on all the lights and noticed problem # 3... Problem #3 - Black Mold of the HVAC vents If you live in the southeast, this nasty crud can make eyes water and allergies go into overdrive. I never, ever, expected to see it in a Hilton branded hotel of any sort and especially not on the 4th floor my room was located at. Photos included. When I showed this to the morning manager the day I checked out, they visibly blanched. Until this hotel has a sound barrier, improved lighting and cleaning, I can't recommend staying here. The reason the hotel received 2 stars versus 1 was the positve impression left by the night desk and the cook at the breakfast bar. Both were competent, friendly and thoughtful.

We arrived close to midnight with 3 kids in tow. Ms Debbie at the front was wonderful and a pleasure to interact with. However, when we arrived to our room we were absolutely disgusted. If it wasn't so late and we hadn't been travelling so long, we would have left. There was mold in the bathroom, everything looked tired and worn out, there was a used bar of soap in the shower, the window covering was broken and wouldn't raise, we were a stones throw from the highway and heard car noise all night, the handles to the fridge door were sticky, something had previously spilled behind the night stand and was splattered all over the wall, there were hairs painted into the walls, the phone didn't look clean...I could go on. We also learned breakfast was $12.95 per person instead of the $9.95 mentioned on the website. We could not get out of there fast enough. Ms Q checked us out and was very pleasant and apologetic about our stay. I highly recommend the ladies at the desk. But that's it. I will not be back. Especially since it was almost one hundred and fifty for our night. Please find somewhere else to stay.

The check-in was easy, friendly staff. Only complaint on check-in was that the lady was having a conversation via her ear pods and I couldn't tell if she was speaking to me or the person on the phone. I stay in hotels 3-4 weekends a month, usually Holiday Inns or Hilton's. I will say I was not overly impressed with this particular Hilton. Cons: The carpet in the room was dated, looked dirty, and had wires hanging out from underneath the a/c unit (see pictures), and the bar never seemed to be open in the evenings. Also I had a do not disturb sign hanging on the door, but housekeeping came in to replace towels anyway. Unfortunately for the 2 nights I stayed, the used towels were just left laying out in front of my door. The outside grounds looked a little un kept as well. Pros: The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean with plenty of shower pressure. Compared to other Hiltons I've stayed in, this one left a little too be desired. Not the worst place I've ever stayed, but for the money I did expect a little more. I will probably not be back to this Hilton.

Stayed 2 times back to back Saturdays. Have a dog was not told about the $84 pet cleaning fee. Got to room thought it was ok until our shih tzu pulled someone else's shirt and sock out from under the bed , it was late we just pushed it back under the bed and went to sleep. Next morning breakfast is $9 per person ( did not partake) upon returning the second Saturday we ask when checking in what the $84 was for and they told us cleaning fee ,said ok at least we know. Gave us the same exact room and guess what was still under the bed... Yep the shirt and socks!! Tried to use the phone to complain and it didn't work at the same time my daughter say's eew mom there is something falling out of the AC. We went down stairs and changed rooms. No it was NOT better. The room was stagnant, and the bathroom door didn't work. And there were candy wrappers under the sofa bed. And they provide ear plugs because they are feet from the highway!!! DO NOT STAY HERE. 🤢🤮
